Itís Pretty Awesome. A San Diego classic, AleSmith IPA showcases the versatility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine lead into an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profile is supported by a firm malt presence to create an incredibly flavorful and well-balanced IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2013 Re-Rate: ALESMITH COMES TO WISCONSIN!!! Cannot beat a hoppy bitter fresh (7/24/13 date is less than 3 weeks old!!) IPA!!! Thanks Alesmith!!Original rating: Bomber from Bottleworks from my PASS trip shared with ck1. Pours a pale orange with a white head great lacing - very nice look. Aroma has pine, citrus, resin - some tropical fruit further down in the glass. Taste is of resin, pine, bitter citrus, some fruit for sweetness; more and more bitter thru the glass. Smooth and bitter. Finishes bittersweet. Really, really good. Smooth and tasty. ck1 says 16/17.

31st May 2015: bomber shared with the wife in the sun on our daughters patio, Laguna Niguel. Most likely the best American IPA I have had so far, not over the top in hop bitterness but no slouch either. Hazy dull orange pour with a good head that leaves lacing as the beer level falls in the glass. This beer highlights what is good about Southern Californian IPAís without blowing your socks off with hoppiness, like some breweries seem to try and do. Flavoursome, aromatic and very, very drinkable. A truly great beer.

Iíve purchased this brew several times and yet have never reviewed yet. Possibly one of the best-balanced IPAís out there. Amber-bronze pour, citrus-heavy nose with underlying musk/woody-pine. Flavor is simply juicy atop a biting pine resin. Finish is not too heavy, dryer than most, getting you impatient for the next sip. A subtle linger on the roof of the mouth. Simple, enjoyable, certainly a staple for IPA lovers.

Tap at brewery in San Diego. Light copper with white head. Smells piney and crisp. Very long hold on the nice hop flavor before it shifts to drying bitterness. One of the longest lasting best finishing ipas Iíve had. Excellent.

wow. seldom does a single IPA offer so much complexity. The hops are really well balanced and donít show overwhelmingly on either the citrus or evergreen side. the only thing not perfect on this is the aroma. If it had a stronger nose it would be ideal.

Citrus pine aromas. Mostly clear tan color, nice frothy head. Smooth the bitter parts are there but the remain in control. Dry lasting mild bitterness left behind.

Pure perfect hops. Smells pines and hops. A medium body and good carbonation. Strong and lasting bitter palate. Tastes hops and pines with a little fruity finish. A complete IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells wonderful, pine, grapefruits, orange.. Dark blonde, copper appearance with a thin creamy head. Tastes is exquisite, nice malt backbone with a pine finish that lingers. One of the best IPAís Iíve tasted.

Alesmith IPA purchased at Jungle Jimís in Fairfield Ohio. This is a hazy apricot golden beer with a firm head of small white bubbles. Carbonation is lively. Nose is a good amount of sharp evergreen hops. Taste is initially quite dry with a bit of pine needle and a large amount of grapefruit citrus on the back end. body is just a bit lively. finishes clean with just a smidge of bitters. a very very nice IPA
