3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 madmitch76 (9867) - , Essex, - JAN 8, 20118th January 2011 Big thanks to cgarvieuk for a taster of this - Cheers Craig. Lovely minerally coffee nose on this very dark brown beer. No head and next to no carbonation. Sillky almost oily palate. Mildy sour dark malt with rich coffee that starts mellow and blooms in to something stronger. The coffee keeps going andf going through to a lingering aftertaste. Lovely coffee beer!

since i drankt my previous what, 30? most wanted beers, this was a most wanted for quite some time ! since i didnt get mine, cause the post ’lost’ may package ( no refund at all, just ... ARGH still pisses me off)
lucky for me, bobochamps has fixed a bottle, and shared it with me . epic !
pours next to black, very small , thin layer of brown foam, wich fades in a ring almost imidiatly .
smell has nice details of coffee, withoud being straight-forward cofee infused. gentle !
MY GOHD
so ... soooo good !
its been a while since i last had the regular, but from what i remember, it was one of the ( the ?) best non-ba, non-infused, non-mixed etc imperial stout i had. this is even better. very gentle coffee, chocolate ( a bit less than the regular, to me ) very soft carbo, bitterness, sweet, roasted malts (not overpowering)
very smooth ! buttery.. complex
waawtch.. again, another beer that shocks me . i’m living an exeptional life, the last months ... this is another chapter in the book of best beers ever.
thanx ignace !
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bytemesis (1413) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle - thanks Stawn! Pous opaque black with a small brown head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is surprisingly not strong, notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is about the same, obviously coffee infused, but not strong or really noticeable as special. Lots of roasty chocolatey notes as well. Light sweet, light bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice enough, but not really even up to the level of a regular speedway IMO.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 barn0216 (217) - California, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle shared by bytemesis. Black color. Light brown head but not much. Poured into a pint glass (only available), very little aroma to go on. Getting more chocolate and dried red fruits than coffee. Flavor is more overly coffee, ashy, cocoa, some alcohol, but nothing to write home about. Still a good stout but i don’t believe this is better than the original speedway.

From the bottle, black pour and a dark tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Flavor is roasty and sweet. A beautiful imperial stout. The Vietnamese version is better, but this is still tasty as hell.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phaleslu (4451) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 19, 2013
750 ml bottle from jenray- thanks, Jen! Long-time want. Pours an opaque midnight brown color with a thick, frothy tan head that settles slowly. Aroma of coffee, earth, dark fruits (plums, grapes, and apples?), vegetal notes, and dark chocolate. Initially it seems off but smooths into rich coffee and roast as it warms. The flavor, however, starts with intensely rich coffee and super bitter dark chocolate, and then smooths into something more drinkable as it warms. Like two completely different beers at 50 degrees and 65 degrees. Medium-bodied, with a roasty, smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. This may have been a 3.8 or so until I let it warm more. Even as it stands, this is my least favorite of the otherwise world class Speedway Stout lineup.
