Tasted at Stone’s Winter Storm 2010. pours a nice yellow color. lighter than expected. a little bit of spice. flavor really lingers but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is.

This wasn’t absolutely spectacular but it was still pretty darn good. I enjoyed it. Citrusy and hoppy. Some sweet malts. I was drinking this around the same time as the Sawyer’s tripel on tap at Stone and I’d have to say that the Sawyer’s tripel was much better. Still a good brew though!

It’s hazy golden with a creamy head. The aroma is fruity hoppy with notes of citrus, yeast, spicy (mostly coriander) and malt. The sweet flavour has hoppy notes of citrus, fruit, malt, yeast, coriander and I think it’s a typical triple, but with more hops, and I like that...

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a small bubbly white head. Very spicy-sweet aroma, of candied citrus, baking spices, malt, and hops. Taste is quite spicy and crisp, with anise, cardamom, malt, citrus peels, hops. Nice carbonation. Lingering spiciness. Nice.

Bottle:   Golden in color, orange hued, slight sediment floating about, thin white head, sparce lacing, very little carbonation.   Floral nose, bready, soft hop, minor alcohol.   Fiery breadiness on the tongue, but not too heavy.   Floral, but it is overshadowed by the alcohol.   Not fiery, but warming.   Not astringent either, which I was expecting based on the nose and the start of this one.   Somewhat American in its breadiness, but then Belgian in its floralness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Better than expected.   Glad its not overly hopped, but I do wish it was a bit brighter.   Thanks Tim for the chance to try this one!

POurs a hazy yellow. Nose is sweet malts and citrus notes, hints of spice and grass. Flavor is alcohol, sweet malts, citrus fruit and mild spice. So so at best. You would think if these 3 teamed up they could have made a killer beer, not a run-of-the-mill trippel.

bottle (from wholefoods-bowery): Pours a light gold with no head retention. Arouma of peaches and grapefruits. Smooth mouthfeel. Caramel malts, cinnamon and other spices. Has a large floral character and finishes with a smattering of hops and alcohol. Not bad.

Light gold pour with a white head. The aroma is light belgiany esters with some citrus, a hint of juniper a distinct dry, floral hop note and a slight funk. The flavor is also quite light on the fruity esters. There is a pronounced floral and herby hop chcaracteristic along with a little bit of brett like funk. The body is sticky but a little on the thinnish side with high carbonation.
