Released shortly before Valentine’s Day, My Bloody Valentine is the red-blooded cousin of our Halloween specialty ale, Evil Dead Red. Caramel-sweet malt is delicately balanced with floral American hop varieties for a truly unique drinking sensation. A deep mahogany red color and a big, aromatic hop profile are the signatures of this seasonal ale.

Bottle: pours clear, deep burgundy with sandy head. Nose is loads of burnt, herbal caramel malts and earthy hops. A little soapy on the palate. Chocolate notes, caramel malt sweetness as well. Interesting red ale that's solid ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A pretty good Amber with a great hoppy aroma. Flavor is a bit thin and watery but still has a nice hoppyness and sweet malty backbone.

22 ounce bottle shared by beernadz, thanks for the share, poured an amber color with aromas of pine, caramel, and some light sap. Flavors are the same with light bitterness in the aftertaste, a real nice beer, thanks again for the share.

Bomber. Pours dark mahogany ruby colored with off-white head. Nose is very resiny and piney, with a big hop smell, and some caramel and rye. Has a big caramel malt bill, some rye notes, and a huge IBU-heavy hop resiny flavor. This one is a hop bomb, and well balanced to boot.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget in Davis (Covell). The aroma on this is great. Bright, citrus hop notes, orange and mandarin. There are also underlying light toasted, and caramel malt character. Light sweetness. Really nice aroma on this. Transparent ruddy-amber body with a large, frothy, strong light beige head. Great lacing. Starts with a significant nutty, lightly sweet, caramel and toffee maltiness. Wow. Light toastiness in the middle. Finishes with a light herbal hop flavor. There is just so much to like about this beer. Very rich and malty. Insanely good.

Rating #1,000. Bottle from Mari’s being enjoyed 4 days past the holiday. Pours clear amber with a big off white head (though I did not pour gently). The aroma is hoppy to the core with tons of floral notes, light pine, some grapefruit, and a good bit of caramel. The taste has a medium hop bite with a really well balanced finish. The hoppiness is almost secondary to the sweet caramel and nutty finish. This beer is incredibly drinkable with just enough of a kick to keep you interested. Very good and a great way to break into the four digit ratings.

22oz bottle, enjoyed the right way... All to my self, on Valentine’s Day. I even wrote the review in red pen. Clear reddish / amber color. Good 1.5-finger tan head, with good retention and lace. Medium-plus body, with a good smooth / soft texture. Light / medium carbonation. Chocolate in the nose. Lightly spicy hop. Lightly toasty. Floral hop is there, too. Decent bitterness, with a good sweet floral / spicy hop aftertaste. A satisfyingly hoppy amber, with a nice malt balance, Some toasty malt. Interesting hints of dark fruit, like some black cherry. Great amber ale.

Bomber to oversized snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a semi-transparent mahogany with foamy light beige head. Smells solid; bitter hops and caramel malt. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Good beer.
