fordest (1759), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Mar 26, 2006 Draft at Liars’ Club. Brown pour with decent head. Aroms were some chocolate and more roastiness. Nutty on the flavor, with that familiar brown ale twang in the finish. Not Bad.

Aroma is malty and very nutty. Taste is clean and nutty. Lingering malt flavors. Very tasty. chrisafari (90), Orange, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 Pours dark brown, almost opaque, with a nice thin tan head. Aroma is roasted nuts/malt. Flavor begins sweet and then becomes roasty and carmelly sweet. Flavors of crisp malt and cocoa dominate the palate. By far the best Brown ale out there. JMFG (1173), Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 On tap @ Alesmith, RBSG. Dark amber color, moderately thick 1 cm head. Nutty aroma backed by earthy hops. Lightly hoppy, nice toasted malt finish. Light carbonation. A very nice brown, touched by enough hops to keep it from being boring. enginaaron (73), San Diego, California, USA Aug 12, 2008 On tap at AleSmith Brewing Co. Fresh aroma with slight chocolate but mostly a bittersweet brown aroma. Sweet taste with low hoppiness, slight astringency. Mildly sharp on the palate with good carbonation. Overall very good and a very tasty low alcohol drink.
