Tap @ the AleSmith brewery. Pours a hazy deep brown with a tan head. Aroma is roasted nuts, caramel, malt, and slightly detectable chocolate as well. Taste is caramel and nut up front with dark fruits, chocolate, and malt at the end. Very nice and solid beer.

Sep 1, 2008 Very nutty taste. Hazelnuts predominantly with some oak backing as well. On tap at Hamilton Pub in San Diego.

Aug 29, 2008 On tap at the brewery for RBSG 08. Clear, dark brown with a nice, off-white head. Aroma is malty and very nutty. Taste is clean and nutty. Lingering malt flavors. Very tasty.

Aug 20, 2008 Pours dark brown, almost opaque, with a nice thin tan head. Aroma is roasted nuts/malt. Flavor begins sweet and then becomes roasty and carmelly sweet. Flavors of crisp malt and cocoa dominate the palate. By far the best Brown ale out there.

Aug 17, 2008 On tap @ Alesmith, RBSG. Dark amber color, moderately thick 1 cm head. Nutty aroma backed by earthy hops. Lightly hoppy, nice toasted malt finish. Light carbonation. A very nice brown, touched by enough hops to keep it from being boring.

Aug 12, 2008 On tap at AleSmith Brewing Co. Fresh aroma with slight chocolate but mostly a bittersweet brown aroma. Sweet taste with low hoppiness, slight astringency. Mildly sharp on the palate with good carbonation. Overall very good and a very tasty low alcohol drink.
