COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith Nut Brown is a tribute to one of our favorite British styles. Deep mahogany in color, its rich, malt-forward flavor profile balances notes of biscuit, mild cocoa and earthy hops. A creamy mouthfeel and full body enhances its drinkability, making Nut Brown an extremely sessionable ale that embodies our commitment to quality.

Bottle picked up locally from notes. Pours a clear dark amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, some sweetness, caramel, nutty, mild dark chocolate, earthy bitterness, good for what it is, but still a brown ale even from Alesmith.

Bottle, 355ml. Deep reddish with a frothy to minimal tan head. Aromas of roasted caramel, nuts, bitter chocolate, some fruity hints. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Smooth, creamy and oily. Medium sweet with a slight sourness and low bitterness. Earthy malt character into a sourish and alcohol finish. Unusual but quite pleasant.

12 fl oz bottle, bought in Mill Valley, CA. Dark red brown in the glass, a lot of small sediments in the glass. Small short living head. Malty on the nose. Taste starts also malty, increasing to the middle part, little bit toasted, with hopy elements until the aftertaste. Some sweetness. Okay and easy to drink.

Tap @ Beer Temple, small sample, thanks to the bartender. Clear deep amber to brown color. Aroma’s: nutty, red fruit, light caramel/butter. Retronasal the red fruit is more upfront, with light caramel and a hint of butter. Flavor is light sweet, fruity. Light bodied. Finishes light roasty, moderate bitter. Decent but not very exciting.

Pours reddish-brown with a nearly non-existent head. Aroma is malty, with cocoa, nuts and a little bread. Slightly sweet chocolate malt, lightly bitter roasted flavor with a roasted, nutty aftertaste. Palate is smooth and modestly slick, medium to light body, soft carbonation.

Bottle into pint glass, hazy ruby brown color with tan head. Aroma notes of cocoa, hazelnut nuttiness, caramel , light dark malt and tad earthiness. Taste seems stronger than aroma notes; adds toffee and faint earthy bitterness. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, tad creamy with simple roast finish. Very good brown ale.
