AleSmith Nut Brown is a tribute to one of our favorite British styles. Deep mahogany in color, its rich, malt-forward flavor profile balances notes of biscuit, mild cocoa and earthy hops. A creamy mouthfeel and full body enhances its drinkability, making Nut Brown an extremely sessionable ale that embodies our commitment to quality.

Bottle into pint glass, hazy ruby brown color with tan head. Aroma notes of cocoa, hazelnut nuttiness, caramel , light dark malt and tad earthiness. Taste seems stronger than aroma notes; adds toffee and faint earthy bitterness. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, tad creamy with simple roast finish. Very good brown ale.

12 oz bottle poured, paired with game 7 of the season. Pours a thick, reddish (in the right light) color with a thin fizz head. Aroma consistent with the expected nutty malt. Flavor is cool, malty, soft almost chocolate like, but without the thick mouth feel. Clean tasting brown ale here. Quite the model for the style. Enjoyed this one.

Pours a mahogany color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is nutty, bready malts. There is some sweetness in there as well. The mouth feel is creamy and there is a noticeable nuttiness and brown bread. World class but brown ale.

Bottle at tasting. Brown color. Aroma of hazelnut, brown malt and some bitters. Simple taste of nuts, malt, bitter mild hop and some creamy choco. Not bad, just solid.

A very good nut brown ale. Pours dark brown with copper highlights. Caramel and walnuts on the aroma. Rich, dense bready malt flavor with honey and caramel notes. Really tasty.

Bomber. Aroma is nutty, cinnamon, bready, wet river rock, licorice. Pours brown but looks clear amber in the light; medium beige head with good retention and a little lace. Taste is sweet, roasty and nutty. Not bad, but I’ve had better examples of the style.

Can’t believe I hadn’t tried this yet. A pure masterpiece in sessionable beers (created back before that was a buzzword). Aroma had me a little worried. Dark roasted malt, light chocolate and notes off toffee. A little thin. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thin tan film for a head. Taste was so much bigger and fuller than the aroma. First sip hit the tastebuds hard. Strong walnut, chewy toffee and roasted caramel were big and full- especially for the low ABV. Mild carbonation. Very nice beer
