Draft at Baggataway. Pours a clean brown with tan head and lace. Notes of nut, caramel, molasses, dark fruits, brown sugar, chocolate. Average mouthfeel, fairly sweet. Easy drinking session. Great for the style

On tap at The Beer Store in Southampton, PA. I have a well-documented opposition to brown ales, but this broke the mold a bit. A good nuttiness really set this one apart. Leave it to Alesmith.

Poured at brewpub. Dark borwn with thick tan head. Roasty malt, caramel nose, with overall roasted nut taste. A great blend of hops as well. Not a huge fan of brown but this was very good for the style.

On tap. Brown with a small lasting head of creamy foam. Nose is cocoa, toasted nut, caramel and a touch of citrus. Tastes of dark chocolate, pecan, caramel, lightly tart berries, and a touch of coffee. Light-medium body is to the sweet side but balanced well by a touch of hops and roast on the end. Low carbonation is nice; pretty good and sessionable brown.

Big longlasting head. Aroma is roasted, yet fruity, roasted grain, nuts, chocolate, dark fruits, coffee, grass, caramel, unripe banana. Taste is very flat compared to the big head, roasted grain, chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee, grass, burnt caramel, hay. Should have had some more bitterness. Fair enough, but a bit disappointing.

Aroma: Brown malt, caramel and nuts.
Appearance: Dark with red highlights and a sturdy light brown head.
Flavor: Roasted malt with coffee.
Palate: medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: Could use some malt complexity or perhaps a lower attenuating yeast. Good but not great.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with an off-white head. Has a roasted malty nutty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty caramel nutty finish.

a bit disappointing, but still nice. nuttiness is very quiet, mostly get biscuit, cocoa and coffee here on the malt. rather sweet which i dont mind, but seems a little light. still tasty though.

Pours dark brown with a small foamy head, low carbonation. Caramel & chocolate malts in the aroma, with a hazelnut note and some dark fruitiness. A bit sweet for my palate, the bitterness doesn’t really come through. Good quality ale, well crafted, just not my thing.
