COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith Nut Brown is a tribute to one of our favorite British styles. Deep mahogany in color, its rich, malt-forward flavor profile balances notes of biscuit, mild cocoa and earthy hops. A creamy mouthfeel and full body enhances its drinkability, making Nut Brown an extremely sessionable ale that embodies our commitment to quality.

Bottle: pours cloudy, reddish brown, fine, tan head that persists. Nose is chocolate malts, nuts, earth, light roast. More of the same in the palate with subtle dry bitterness. Nice and sessionable. Lots of flavor for such a low ABV beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazelnut and chestnut with a backdrop of bready caramel. Just the right amount of sweetness in a lightly carbonated body with a thin head. Probably noble hops - not a lot of sharpness coming from them - per the style of beer. What works particularly well here is the subtle sweetness with the stale notes that sometimes linger in this style.

4oz on tap at Brass Tap - U Square. Nice chocolate, nuttiness up front; some maple. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Balanced finish, neither dry nor slick. Light to moderate sweet taste, nice light bitterness. No lingering sweet syrupiness. Clear brown amber color. Thin off-white head, leaving decent lace. Overall, a very solid nut brown ale. Met my high expectations for Alesmith, unlike the Robust Porter I recently tried from them (it was just OK).
