4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark brown color with a moderate light tan head on it. Nose has some nuts and bread in there, making it light and pleasant. Taste is a little toasty and has a bit of a bite on the back end. It actually tastes rather clean and refreshing. Good brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear dark cola brown with a thin bubbly head of a light beige hue. Nose is sweet and earthy with loads of toasted nuttiness, like pecan and almond with just a wee hint of cocoa. Flavor is earthy with a wee touch of molasses, especially on the finish, but also with a dark earthy sweetness of nuttiness and light cocoa.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour is ruby brown with a beige head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma and flavor both remind me of cracker jack - caramel, nuts, roast, brown sugar. Darker fruits come out near the finish. Medium bodied.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark but translucent reddish deep brown. Smells of nuts, coffee, a bit of malty fruit. Flavour is on the thin side - could be much stronger - watery and a little bit sour. Body is also thin but with small lively carbonation. Not bad and very drinkable but would be much better with more to the taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Deep brown color with a nutty aroma and a bit of bitter English style hops. Bit watery palate with quite a bit or carbonation. Flavor is subtle - nuttiness, bitter hop, malty backbone. Not sure it lives up to standards set by Rogue’s Hazelnut Brown which is similar but bigger in almost every sense.
