Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, cacao, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange, vanilla notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity - berry, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange, moderate yeasty. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. An unclear dark amber beer with no head. The aroma is very hoppy, sweet, and malty. The flavor is very sweet and very hoppy = very simple, and with alcohol burning the tongue. For me, this is too simple.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and overripe fruit. Extremely full-bodied with fat accents of burned caramel, sweetish overripe fruit and a bitter finish. 030407

From tap at the brewery. Pours clear and golden orange to brown with a lacing off-white head. Caramel and and hoppy and dense hoppy aroma. Flavour is smooth and dense hoppy and medium sweet caramel malty flavour. Fruity hops and mild spiced finish. Lovely.

Red-brown. Relatively light bodied and drinkable for a barley wine, big aromatic hop bitterness. A beer to love in a beautiful bottle!

Bottled (thanks to whoever sent this to me, someone in the us... drewbeerme or jjpm74 afair...). Reddish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is raisins, toffee, some mild hoppyness along with some earth and some stuff. Flavour is toffee, caramel, some mild alcohol, pleasant "old dead hops".

Clear golden coloured with a meidum sized off white head.
Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel, cookies and dried fruits.
Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits, cookies, hops and pine needles with notes of alcohol.
Hoppy and warming alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Very powerful, peppery, hoppy aroma. Brilliant and very strong flavour, malt, some liquorice, aromatic hoppiness. Liquorice aftertaste. OK bitterness.

Amber color. Sweetish malt and caramel aroma, mature. Strong body, sweet caramel and malt flavor, somehow the alcohol is too much present; it has a nutty side; strong bitterness, resiny. Fairly good American Barley Wine, but I was expecting more.
