Keg at the bottle shop, Bermondsey. It pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma is roasty and medium dry with notes of earth, cocoa nibs, toasted pecans, roasted wood chips and caramel. Taste is also medium roasty with a good amount of sweetness too. Notes of caramel, chocolate, roasted wood and licorice. Medium bodied good carbonation. Overall, nice

Keg at The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey, London. A very dark brown coloured pour with a very thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel on the nose. Tastes pretty much the same, roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, slightly sweet. A little thin but still a very drinkable porter from Alesmith.

Scopey (12504) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2016
Keg at Bottle Shop. It pours near black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, chocolate ice cream, cookie dough, mellow roasted malt and light spice. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, cocoa, cookie dough, earth, wood, fudge, chocolate ice cream with toasty finish. Medium body and fine, pickly carbonation. Well rounded and really drinkable.

From tap. Dark brown nearly black color. Aroma is very nice of roasted sweet malt and discrete hops. Taste is again slightly sweet but slightly watery as well, but nothing major. Low carbonation and bitterness. Very nice overall.

From tap at Taphouse, Copenhagen. Aroma is creamy chocolate, cocoa, dark malts, with a touch of raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Good Porter, but not amazing like many other Alesmith brews.

Sample at the brewery taproom. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Medium body with a roasty malt and coffee character with chocolate in the background. The finish is chocolatey with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and alcohol, leading to a dry roasted finish.
