Pours dark and heavy in the glass with a tan head. Full bodied flavors of cocoa and roasted grains and coffee flavors throughout the drink. Great overall.

Draft at lupulo tap house Santa Cruz. Dark mahogany brown / black coloured pour with a lasting thin light tan head. Aroma is nutty roast , faint choc, lactose sugars, slightly ashy, earthy roast. Palate is medium full, highish carbonation, milky. Good.

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Mild roasted malts, light sweetness, low bitterness, and a quick finish with lighter coffee notes. Pretty good.

Taster at the brewery. Brown color with tan ring. Aroma is bitter chocolate, earthy, nutty. Taste is bitter chocolate, some roasted malts, nuts, some coffee, not sweet. Silky mouthfeel. A prototype Porter. Great balance - as we are used to by Alesmith.

Draft pour pint at the taphouse. From notes. Pours a thick near black with a fizzy tan head. Huge roasted aroma and flavor. Some light coffee in there, and finishes on a big roasted, almost smokey flavor. Overall a very nice porter here. Tasty.

This is a really excellent beer. The only thing is the name; it’s misleading as I don’t see how this beer is robust. Very smooth, easy drinking, slightly light body, well balanced, moderate strength..... I want more!

Draft at Dutch’s, served in a pint glass. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a finger of soft tan head that lasts and leaves trailing lace on the glass all the way down. Notes of chocolate, leaves, toasted and mild roasted malts, brown sugar, nuts, and caramel. Medium-bodied, with medium soft carbonation and an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. Really satisfying porter.

Deep brown pour with a thin fading off white head. Earthy sweet and roasty pseudo chocolate malts and a little roast. Smooth and robust Porter flavors with earthy sweetness, a bit of cocoa, roast, a bit of dry black malt and a semisweet and mellow Porter darkness with a kiss more of chocolate.

Draft. Pours a thin, poorly retained beige head, with slight lacing, over a blackish brown (SRM 35) body.....nose is roasted malts, with cocoa, chocolate, hints of coffee, light herbal hops, balance to the malts.......taste is cocoa, chocolate, light coffee, from the roasted malts, hints of toffee/caramel sweetness, slight dried fruit tones reminiscent of cherry, finishing with a light roasted malt hop bitterness, balance to the malts.....mouth feel, medium body, light alcohol, low carbonation. This is a well made Robust Porter. The hops are understated and gentle for an American Robust Porter, it is more English in style. BJCP 8/2/14/4/7

Tap. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted dark chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted malt sweet flavor with a medium malt sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex brew.

On tap at the source. Pours a dark brown with a thin mocha head. Aroma is coffee mocha and dark chocolate. Flavor follows with lots of chocolate. Fairly sweet. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
