Barrel Aged Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee that has been matured in premium bourbon barrels. Considered one of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Good to the last dropping!

Mörk choklad i doften. Flytande choklad i perfekt balans med bourbon. Balans och världsklass, som så ofta med detta bryggeri. Sitter helt perfekt. Tack till Andreas.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, bourbon, wood, chocolate and light toffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with notes of vanilla, coffee and bourbon. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really, really good. Wonderful aroma.

Backlogged rating. The empty bottle is still sitting on my shelf of rare beers in the living room curio. Direct from the brewery via online pre-order. A fantastic beer in every sense; I’ve been lucky enough to try two bottles of this but yet to experience it on draft. Same fantastic oaky, bourbon-soaked coffee and chocolate aroma that follows suit with the flavor. The coffee bitterness in the flavor is much more mellow than the regular barrel-aged version. Sweet charred brown sugar, firewood, chocolate cherry and maple syrup blended in the flavor. Super smooth, velvety mouth-feel. Warming alcohol finish that rounds it all out. With a few years of age and less heat, this would be my only "5". All around a world-class imperial stout that Alesmith, yet again, has taken to a whole other level. God damn I am lucky to live in San Diego.

From notes. Bottle. Black, almost completely opaque, pour with small dark brown head. Aroma is roasted grain an coffee, some discernable vegetal notes from the Kopi Luwak along with dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and spices. Taste is bourbon heat upfront, very roasted and bitter from hops or vegetal notes. Not my favourite type of stout but more drinkable than regular Kopi. Also, Alesmith’s base stout is world class quality, so it definitly helps.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks DSG. Black, opaque with tan head. Coffee, some ash and prune aroma, then more coffee and almonds. A little acidic, coffee bitterness in the mouth, then vanilla. No carbonation, full body and thick, syrupy texture with a little burnt finish.

Bottle sample at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - yellow session. Huge thanks to ronny / tkrjukoff for the sample. Aroma is big earthy / dirty coffee, soft roast, booze, vanilla. A lot of complexity in the aroma. Viscous black motor oil pour with a relucant tan head. Flavour is boozy alcoholo, dark choc, dirty coffee, earthy. Smooth palate, viscous with lowish carbonation. Spicy finish. Some apparent rubbing alcohol is a bit off putting, otherwise it is excelent.
