COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Aged Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee that has been matured in premium bourbon barrels. Considered one of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Good to the last dropping!

Bottle shared @ Dean’s aged pale lager tasting, courtesy of deanso. Really looking forward to this beer. The beer pours a pitch black colored liquid with a small brownish head on top. Aroma has coffee and bourbon, loads of dark fruits and molasses. Big caramel fudge and vanilla going on. Basically everything you want in an imperial stout is present. Flavor is intense... very sweet, touches of coffee and big wood characters. Long lasting, sweet cloying finish and amazing aftertaste. This one sticks.. Amazingly well crafted, epic brew!!

Bottle at Dean’s aged pale lager tasting. Black pour, thin tan head. Holy shit this is probably one of the best beers I’ve ever had. The aroma has roasted malts, subtle and smooth, coffee, chocolate and spices with quite some roasted malts. Flavor is very very smooth, creamy, slightly spicy, slightly bitter, great balance, slightly warming and very very very good. Amazing brew. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Fantastic.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro. pours dark brown with a very nice medium dark beige head, good retention and lacing. burnt hazelnuts, dense milky chocolate, peppercorn dark chocolate bar, some smoke, dark cherries, un-stale bitter coffee, gentle woodsy bourbony notes - never overwhelming, warming alcohol, pinch of dirt. low carbonation, medium to full body - oily and sticky, grassy-bitter coffee finish. tasty and very good! a rare coffee ris that i truly enjoyed!

Bottle shared by tom10101, thanks! Pours a pitch black with a weak dark brown head that offers light lacing. Nose is fruity, chocolatey and contains a good dose of fresh coffee. Taste is sweet and features nice chocolate, caramel and bourbon. Never cloying or too boozy, unreal. Mouthfeel is smooth, carbonation low, body full. Really nice, a superior stout for sure!

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of deep roasted barley malt with notes of dry coffee with some hazelnut notes with light bourbon undertones which rounds off some of the rough edges. Taste is a mix between some dry roasted malt notes with coffee notes and some hazelnut and bourbon notes which helps rounds off the flavours. Body is quite full with good carbonation and nice creamy body and no apparent alcohol. This is definitely one of the best versions of Speedway that I have ever tried. All the flavours are well balanced and don’t clash between each other’s. The complexity level is quite high but the drinkability is also quite high.

From notes. Bottle share courtesy of Bytemesis. Thank you! Overall, very balanced, with well-integrated flavors. Aromas of dusty earth, earthy soil, dark chocolate, dusty coco, coffee and vanilla. Flavors of rich chocolate and caramel, with a loonggg, fairly bitter, finish. Bourbon flavors are not as pronounced as I expected, yet well very well integrated. Very complex, yet subtle and strong. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

2013 Bottle from trade. Stoked to get to try this one. Pours pitch black and thick looking with a dark brown and super creamy head like you would see on an espresso. Aroma is big chocolate syrup notes, lots of vanilla, some rich earthy coffee (though subdued), bourbon, wood, some roasted grains, tobacco, more vanilla. Flavor is up front roast, barely any coffee, bourbon, with a beautifully long sweet vanilla finish. There is some oak and wood here that lingers on the tongue with some vanilla and anise. Body isn't as thick as other Speedway variants I have had, but certainly not light bodied either. Low to medium carbonation. This is a great beer but doesn't live up to my lofty expectations. I really don't get much coffee from this one. Looking forward to trying the regular Kopi version. With that said, worth trying if you can get it.
