COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Aged Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee that has been matured in premium bourbon barrels. Considered one of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Good to the last dropping!

Thanks to Motherbrother for bringing this SOB! Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma has sweet smooth chocolate notes, nice vanilla, coconut from the barrel, earthy coffee, dark sweet fruits, chocolate cake, cocoa, ripe sweet cherry, brown sugar, cinnamon and ’sweet’ wood. Taste has sweet chocolate, dark sweet fruits, brown sugar, roasted malts, stimulating fruity coffee, vanilla, a bit coconut, soy and nice bourbon alcoholic feel in the end. This is like black candy!

Okay… So this pours pretty black, with a dark reddish hue, and a small light khaki head. Aroma has plenty of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, banana, coconut, plenty of roasted coffee, delicious dark n’ bitter chocolate, slight toffee. Sure is a lot of bourbon notes in this bad boy. The taste is pretty sweet up front, with a long and lingering roasted bitterness from the middle and out. Semi full bodied, with a semi flat carbonation. - Thanks a lot to the Jeff for sending me this.

Well let’s just say look up Kopi Luwak for some interesting reading. My first fecal matter beer. But wow was it worth it! At bottle share with Daniel. Thanks! Snifter. Jet black pour with a tan half-finger head. Head dissipated quickly with some minor lacing. The aroma was amazing. Dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, coffee, vanilla and caramel. The taste was just as amazing. Smooth sips of dark chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla, and sweet lactose. Best once warmed for about 10 minutes in the snifter. The body was full with very mild carbonation. Finish was bourbon barrel, slight alcohol, and dark chocolate. Best "shit" I’ve ever had LOL.

750ml bottle In a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, strong coffee, roasted malts, oak, vanilla, some chocolate, some light dough and bitterness. Flavor an amazing blend of everything. Thick texture. One of the best beers I’ve had.

25.4 oz bottle. My 3000th rating! Dark brown with a tan haze. Nose is bourbon and coffee with a slight chocolate sweetness. Needs more time to warm. Creamy medium body with a sharp alcohol tang. Taste features the same bourbon and coffee up front but better balanced with dark chocolate fudge brownies and caramel.

Bottle share by Chris, Big bold coffee takes over up front and bourbon builds up. Taste is big bourbon, light vanilla, coffee roast, great body.

Bottle tasting with Kaufmanised; dark black pour with luxurious tan brown head, rich roast coffee aroma, luxuriously rich coffee taste, chocolate vanilla a trace of bourbon, lived up to expectations, amazing beer.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2014 Bottle: thanks, Ron! Deep, deep brown, almost completely black with a tan head that settles quickly into a thinner film and collar. Incredible aroma... the power lost in the original Kopi is restored with the barrel; time-bomb of chocolate, intense roasted Kopi coffee beans, sweet and creamy brown sugar, dark fruit, smooth bourbon-covered oak, and that notable twinge of sweetness from the Kopi beans themselves. Smells like a dream. The taste has more barrel than the aroma, but it’s still very smooth. Sticky chocolate cream, dark fudge, oak, vanilla, light coconut, bourbon, and heavy, heavy roasted and sweet Kopi coffee beans. Liquid river of bliss, this stuff is great.

Bottle shared thanks to Adam, a kind American visitor in the Beer Temple. Pours near black with a few beige bubbles. Aroma of big chocolate, caramel, molasses, coffee, vanilla and booze. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Full bodied with flat carbonation. Beautiful!

750 ml bottle served in a unbranded snifter during a little Local Option bottle share. Shared by stxSS07, thanks Matt! A: Pours a dark black color with a tan head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly to a thin ring that leaves some splotches of lace down the edges of the glass. S: There’s a lot of barrel on the nose mixed with a heavy dose of coffee. Oaky and sweet bourbon mix with crushed coffee grounds. Definitely that earthy and slightly fruity Kopi aroma. T: The coffee bean aroma is much more apparent on the taste. Very earthy and gritty with a mild espresso to it. Nice roasted malt presence with some underlying notes of chocolate and oak barrel. The bourbon is a little more noticeable on the palate here as it is a touch hot. M: Medium to heavy bodied with a medium carbonation level. Nice and smooth on the finish. O: Great take on regular Speedway. The barrel adds a nice character, although I’m still not sold on the Kopi coffee variations. A little to earthy and fruity for me. Serving type: bottle 06-08-2013
