COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Aged Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee that has been matured in premium bourbon barrels. Considered one of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Good to the last dropping!

Thanks Al. Pours black with mocha head. Rich chocolate coffee nose with some bourbon. Smooth almost creamy. Coffee and bourbon are perfectly blended. Is hyped and it clearly delivers. 1st class.

Pours thick dark black in color with a creamy beige head. Aroma brings some creamy vanilla bourbon and coffee. Flavor is delicious creamy milky coffee notes with some vanilla on a perfectly balanced creamy body. This held up pretty well for a while.

Bottle sampled @ Dak’s Black Friday tasting! Huge thanks to nbutler for bringing this! Squid ink pour with mocha edges and a tightly packed latte crown. Webbing inside the glass reminiscent of a chocolate shake. Ghirardelli, Godiva, and Hershey accompanied by Starbucks, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brownie batter, and fudge. Rich, decadent, and creamy as hell. The Kopi definitely adds a unique depth and the barrel seems to be married to the base beer better than the traditional BA version. Loved it!

Bottle from jhogan. This stuff is amazing. Lots of coffee, an amazing amount of coffee. Very smooth, not too much bourbon. Touch of bourbon speedway stout, incredibly well balanced. Best of the WhAlesmith tasting.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. Cheers to Paulo(?). The pour’s brown with a small head. The nose is toast, crème brulee sweetness. Brown sugar. Vietnamese coffee, coffee creamer. The taste is quite sweet. Hershey’s syrup. Vanilla. Nice roasty body. Ashy malts, charred coffee bean. Somewhat boozy on the woody finish. Rich, supple, easy to drink despite the punchy ABV. Much better than the BA version.

Thanks to MotherBrother for this! Pours pretty much like the regular speedway stout: Black with a semi-nut-brown head. But the smell man! Lots and lots of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits and some burned notes. Brown sugar and cinnamon too. This beer is so powerful in the american way. Extremely delicious coffee, and dry, dark chocolate. This is soo delicate.. Like drinking candy!

Second time I had this one it already tasted a little old. Bumping my scores down a touch until I can try another. ------ served right after the regular version and again later at Ffej of July XI

A - Pours pitch black with a decent one finger tall tan head, dissipating down to a light ring around the edge, leaving spotty streaks of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of fresh brewed coffee, rich bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, oak and dark roasted malt. This one smells incredible. While the base was too one dimensional, the bourbon barrel has really brought it all together.

T - Starts off much like the base with the strong espresso coffee kick but now it has combined with the warming bourbon and the combo never really fades away. Hints of milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, caramel and some dark roasted malt round things out. Finish is really roasted with a bit of booze burn, lingering long after the finish.

M - Big body with moderate carbonation. Feel is pretty roasty with a bit of sweetness and some light booze. While the base wore on me, this one goes down way too easy.

O - I really liked the base beer but this one takes it to a whole other level. The addition of bourbon to the already killer mix makes this one nearly perfect. I would love to have this on a regular basis, it is that good.

Obtained in trade. Bottle pours thick black with firm generous tan head. Aroma coca with roast and slight oak. taste improves as it warms. Didn’t get much coffee but nice malts, roast, chocolate with bourbon and oak. Finish oak and bourbon. Thick palate with marked alcohol burn. Moderate to high carbonation.

Kind of an uneven beer. At times it was almost perfect, other times too highly oaked, other times.much more of a jolt than I expected. I love Speedway, like the Kopi Luwak and like bourbon barrel aging, but for some reason at times they didn’t come together very well.

Cleg with the hook up, poured a dark black color with aromas of coffee, earth, and booze. Flavors are huge coffee, almost cold pressed espresso followed by some light earth and then when you think it was over there’s the bourbon. A solid version of a barrel aged beer, thanks Cory for the share.
