4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served on tap at AleSmith, side to side with regular Speedway. Deep black with a small beige head. Nose and flavor are roast, vanilla, chocolate, barrel, sweet coffee. Nice creamy mouthfeel, full bodied. I think this version is better than Kopi.

Growler. Aged precisely an equivalent amount of time to a rabbit’s gestation period. This was done by the request of thome50. He said this was when the beer was at its peak. Pour is deep brown with a massive khaki head. Great lacing left on the glass after the head dies down. Sweet chocolate and coconut aroma. Only time I’ve ever had Vietnamese coffee was cold press, but this is very reminiscent. Sweeter and more desert-like. Taste has much more roast coffee character coming out, but it is a bit charred tasting to me. Lots of sweetness with milk chocolate and coconut still being present. Finish has some cherries. Just like regular speedway this is full bodied, but not too heavy and rich. Nice and silky on the tongue. Pretty damn good, but the sweeter character is really not something I like. Too much like desert coffee for me.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Served on tap at the AleSmith tasting room. The appearance is a typical deep black Speedway hue. Very thick body. The nose has that great creamy Vietnamese coffee to it with a full roast maltyness, chocolate, and some small barrel additions. The flavor follows suit. Very tasty coffee. A lot more creamy/lactose then the regular version. Dark chocolate and muted bourbon add to this tasty treat. Full creamy mouth with a bit of oaky drying. Yum!

Tap. Deep black pour, with a frothy tan head. Strong aromas of coffee, lactose, chocolate, rich, licorice. Flavors follow suit with a nice roundness, high alcohol, soft roast, chocolate and lots of coffee. Some brown sugar, possibly a touch of barrel. Tastes a lot like the standard Vietnamese Coffee Speedway (which does not suck).

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very good, kind of boozy, but still very good. It’s smooth and very sweet, has a lot of chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut. Can taste the coffee and a little bourbon as well. Smells of chocolate and vanilla. Finish is long and lingering and very satisfying.

Draft at the brewery. Black pour with a nice tan head. Chocolate, smooth sweetness, vanilla, light to moderate bourbon oak barrel character, roast, and tons of fresh ground coffee. I love the Vietnamese coffee blend, very smooth and flavorful, it almost gives me a subtle fruitiness. Nice.

First beer on the RBSG bus. Multiple pours. Damn what a beer. Nearly black with a nice brown head. Aroma hits with loads of freshly roasted coffee, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, chocolate, roasted malt, asphalt. Just delicious. The coffee hits strong and then gives way to a bourbon laced roast with chocolate. Wow.
