COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee. Considered on of the world’s most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Expertly roasted by San Diego’s Ryan Bros. Cofee leads to an extremely aromatic and excetionally smooth final product that complements Speedway Stout exceptionally well! Good to the last Dropping!

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2011 AZRBWG courtesy of Daknole and Smokepot23. The color is very dark brown with mahogany edges all sitting beneath a dark brown head. Aroma shows notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, roasted malt, and fine rich coffee. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of chocolate covered espresso beans, roasted caramel, coffee fudge brownie notes and more coffee. Overall body is full, viscous and finishes with exceptional dark chocolate/roasted malt bitterness. A special thanks to Peter at Alesmith for this treat.

#399 baby, wait till you see #400!!!! Anyways, back to the beer. Dark brown pour. Fantastic coffee and chocolate aromas. Superbly balanced with dark chocolate, black coffee, and wonderful roasted malt flavors. Not overly bitter but at the same time not overly sweet. Again the balance of flavors in this Imperial Stout is phenomenal. This bad boy lives up to the hype......

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2011 pitch black pour with huge amounts of coffee on the nose and flavor. This was good, but I was just expecting a little bit more.

Pours black. Nose is huge coffee, roasty grains and sweet malts. Flavor is Fresh coffee, roasted barley, hints of smoke and ash. Damn fine coffee beer. Would expect no less.

RBWG, Thanks! This has dominate coffee nose and taste. Noticed cotton candy and vanilla, too. A very unusual beer. The coffee overpowered most of the qualities of this stout. Never the less, a great combination of flavors! I feel lucky to have had this beer. Very special stuff.

Awesome beer, from the first bit of lingering aroma to the last drop.

50th rating of the beer. Generously made available on tap by Daknole, Smokepot23, and Peter at AleSmith for RBWG 2011 -- you guys are amazing. My rating will not do this beer justice. Pours obsidian in color with a trim tan head. Smells of roasted coffee from several feet away. Concentrated in flavor and silky on the palate. Tastes of further coffee, sweet malts, and cream. This holy trinity makes for one luxurious beer. Proof that the best ingredients in the best hands create something that exists on a another level. This is the best example of a coffee stout I have yet to encounter.

On tap at RBWG- a huge thanks go out to Joe, Dak (that’s Doc you bastards) and AleSmith for this. Pours a totally black color with a medium beige head. A bursting coffee nose, roast, milky, even some smoke. The flavor is huge goodness; massive sweet milky chocolate coffee, the best cup you’ve ever had. Dark fruits, roast and some char. But this is all about the coffee, very smooth, actually insanely so. I had a few glasses to ponder, and I am very grateful. A rich creamy palate. Lovely.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2011 (on draught at RBWG 2011-Phoenix!). Many, many thanks to Dak and Joe for hooking this up. Pour black with tan head. Coffee aroma is noticeable from a foot or so away. Aroma has loads of coffee and chocolate. Taste is roasty coffee bitterness, but its balanced by the sweet malts. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Finish has a roasted coffee bitterness. The alcohol is well hidden. This is one awesome brew and lived up to the hype for me.
