COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout is our award winning year round Speedway Stout with Kopi Luwak Coffee. Considered on of the worldís most expensive and rare coffee varieties, the beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds of the fruit of the coffee cherry. Expertly roasted by San Diegoís Ryan Bros. Cofee leads to an extremely aromatic and excetionally smooth final product that complements Speedway Stout exceptionally well! Good to the last Dropping!

I had this at Oíbriens during Beer Week in San Diego. Coffee, Coffee, Coffee. Like an Espresso shot . Jet Black like motor oil, with a toast-brown head. Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation. I liked this beer but it was a bit over the top for me.

Draft at Woodshop 5.0. Many thanks to Chris and those involved for making this beer appear. Pours a very dark, chocolate-brown color; medium brown head with fine-bubbled lacing. Absolutely gorgeous coffee aroma: well-roasted, fresh, non-astringent, with hints of creamy milk chocolate; great nose. Medium-to-full body: very creamy texture, lively acidity, average levels of carbonation, but a lovely appearance in the mouth; loads of well-roasted coffee, chocolate, and a delicately roasted malt presence throughout; very soft, very lovely. Long, long finish of coffee, chocolate, and soft roast.

Tap at Woodshop. Huge, massive, coffee nose, far exceeding the regular Speedway by a mile. Itís very nice and fresh, the coffee has a good roast to it, but itís more the quantity that is impressive rather than the quality of the coffee. Beyond the coffee, itís typical Speedway, which is always very solid. Itís a real shame that so many of the ratings are from handbottles now (which Iíve had and I probably would have rated the bottle in the 3.5 range rather than the 4.3 on tap). Itís a joke, but I guess the tick is the most important part for some people.

Handbottle.

[ Courtesy of cgarvieuk ]. Clear dark brown black color with virtually none head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, strong coffee, cacao, coffee, wood - tobacco, moderate alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20110111]

big thanks to someone for this freakin treat of a handbottle. pitch black with a deep khaki head. coffee, roasted malts, more coffee, vanilla, and molasses. crazy thick on the palate, the coffee is insane in this beer, solid coffee flavor, roasted finish, no sign of alcohol at all. WOW

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, Stephen with the HUGE hookup. Dark back pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, big coffee, roast, hints of spice, nice roasty and toffee, nice dark fruits, roast, milk chocolate and vanilla, this is very nice. Taste is a nice mix of dark chocolate, roast, nice coffee, milky coffee and smooth espresso notes, nice dark fruits, molasses, hints of vanilla, finishing fairly bitter, roasted. Very, very nice,

A- pitch black with medium mocha tan head. Good lacing. S-decident coffee is strong with chocolate, espresso, vanilla, leather, rich earth and vegetable notes. Chalk and charcoal on the dry end. T-rather airy and light, but full of coffee and bakers chocolate. Mocha, vanilla, molasses, earth and the faint sting of alcohol. Tangy cacao comes in the middle. Some sporadic vegetable notes. Ashy dry bitter ending. M-rich bit light. Full bodied, full of flavor and a little sticky and syrupy with good carb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750mL courtesy of Shane. Awesome. Split 2 ways on Fat Tuesday. A: Viscous pour yields cirrus fluffy cappuccino head. Black like itís afraid of the light. Glass coating legs. N: Fudge, chocolate, and espresso bean. Vanilla edges. Berries round out the profile nicely. Has the deep lushness of the Kopi Luwak. Slightly nutty. Biscuit and some smoke/char. T: Sweet and somewhat savory. Very nutty - walnuts and pecans and loads of dark chocolate edged by smoke and leather. Coffee penetrates the soul of this beer as does the clean finish that Kopi Luwak is so famous for having. Hint s of crystallized honey and freshly tilled dirt. M: Viscous and coating. Alcohol is moderate, but does not burn. Can get slightly overbearing after too much. O: A deep experience worth having. Layered with depth, this is worthy of the accolades. Donít age.

Another great thanks to the Peter and Jakob for this unexpected treat. Pour jet black, with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is sooo packed with coffee, roasted coffee beans, chocolate, licorice, slight vanilla, slight boose ní wood, slight leather. Really a treat indeed. The taste is a little sweet up front, with a heavy dose of bitterness. Semi-full bodied, with a slightly flat carbonation. A little dry as well. To me, this shit is waaayy better than the "original" speedway. My kind of beverage
