4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I really liked this one...It actually reminded me of one of those chocolate oranges. Great orange notes and a nice chocolate note.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Alesmith. Appearance, okay for such a small pour. Lots of sweet orange in the aroma. Taste is same. Sweet on front and bitter finish. Meh. Get the rum in the finish but not so much the aroma. Tastes like those orange chocolates. Too much orange for me and too sweet.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Alesmith. Of the 4 variations of Speedway I had this day, this was my least favorite. The nose is a bit weird, there is some orange and chocolate, but mixing with the roasted coffee flavor is just strange. The taste had a slightly metallic tinge to it that i did not enjoy. I had high hopes for this one, but sadly it did not live up.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Alesmith with 4 different variations. Nose is like the orange sugar covered candy. Taste is rich and thick with hints of orange and rum and orange tootsie pop. Good as always.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Alesmith. Black pour with an expresso head. Aroma is sweet candied orange with chocolate. Smells like the holiday chocolate that is shaped like an orange with pre-cut wedges. I do not get much if any rum or barrel in the aroma and certainly no roast or coffee. Taste is orange with some rum spice, chocolate, and lingering orange sweetness with spicy sugar into the finish. Clean and smooth mouthfeel. Stunning to me how this "variation" of speedway is a beer unto itself and has so little in common with the base beer. Yes, the beer is sweet, sugary, and lacks the dominant coffee/roast of the base beer but it is an extremely well made, unique imperial stout with orange, chocolate, and rum. Amazing beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Alesmith. Looks like reg Speedway, good creamy head. Nose of the chocolate orange that comes on the wedges with light spice. Also some yeasty dough in the back. Flavor has plenty of orange and chocolate, getting a little roasty by the finish. Bitterness peaked at a 4 with some boozy spicy ETOH heat, tinge of umami. Burps yeasty orange candy. Medium full creamy body, low carbonation. I enjoyed this, but dunno how much I could drink.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Night of a Million Zillion Speedways
Ap. pours black with a tan ring and tan swirls.
Aro. Orange creamsicle. Chocolate coffee.
Taste. Orange tootsie roll. Burnt roast.
Mouthfeel. Low carb. Full bodied.
Overall: Some thought this was too sweet or candy like. I loved it. Best speedway variant after Toasted Coconut.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served on tap at O’Brien’s Night of a Million Zillion Speedways 2011. The appearance is the usual Speedway deep black hue with a medium roasty brown head. The aromas are sweet with orange and some alcohol heat. The flavors have a very pronounced orange flavors, with a chocolate.orange candy bar thing. The rum comes through at time with a nice spiciness but it doesn’t come through enough for me since I don’t like the orange/chocolate combo in general. A rum barrel aged Speedway would be fantastic. This one is what it is but not my thing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted at O’Briens. Dark black pour, small tan head (not surprising). Dark chocolate, notes of roasted coffee, candied orange, slightly bitter, and some rum character. It’s what you would expect and quite good. Like a chocolate orange, but far better.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pre-release tasting/carbonation check at the brewery. It has the same Speedway strong black coffee/dark chocolate flavor with a touch of orange rind bitterness and a hint of rum. Full body is rich and creamy with modest carbonation.
