As with all Speedway: the beer is black and has a tan head. Wow, what a nose. Lots of raw coconut and vanilla which play very nicely with the intense roast, coffee, and dark chocolate aromas of Speedway. The flavor is almost like chewing on fresh shredded coconut. Tons of vanilla to it as well. A nice sweetness of chocolate and toffee, plenty of roasted malt and coffee, too. Just a fantastic beer.

On tap at the brewery for Speedway Grand Prix. Dark brown pour with a light brown head. Big coconut and vanilla bouquet. Huge vanilla and coconut notes work uber well with dark roasted malt and expresso notes. Fantastic, my favorite treatment...

Hawaiian Speedway without the Hawaiian coffee. Gotta say, there was a noticeable drop off. Not bad. This is a great beer instead of a world beater, but there WAS a difference. Greener coffee, less smooth on the body (3.4-4 instead of a 4.5 on the body). Still great just not AS great.
