4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Huikean värinen, tuoksuu jopa tuoreelle espresso pavulle.erittäin täyteläinen maku jossa rekkalastillinen kahvia mutta kuitenkin tasapainossa humalan kanssa..jälkimaku viipyy niinkuin kunnon espressossakin melkein grappaa huutaisi huuhtelemaan.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap poured into a 4oz shaker sample glass. Sampled both on nitro, and CO2 taps. Coffee, chocolate and caramel comes through the on the aroma, although, on nitro, the aroma in general is more subdued - although some berry and woody notes come through. It poured an opaque black with a tan head. The tan head retains as a wispy layer for the CO2 pour, and, of course, much thicker on nitro. Both lace well, although the nitro pour leaves a sheet of lace on the glass. It’s a very balanced, medium-high sweet and medium bitter taste. More of the sweetness comes out on the nitro pour. It’s a full bodied beer with soft carbonation. The nitro pour is much creamier and milky. It’s slick and the CO2 pour has a bit more alcohol warmth to the finish whereas the nitro pour hides it better. Both leave a coffee bitter finish, although the nitro is a bit more clean. There’s a slight wood note that comes through on the nitro pour.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
I’d been saving this bottle for awhile waiting for the right time to open it. Jet black pour with a small tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, toffee, and brown sugar. Flavor is coffee and cocoa upfront with some nice molasses notes coming through in the finish. Crazy smooth and easy to drink. No trace of the abv whatsoever on the palate. This was delicious and it certainly deserves the reputation it has acquired!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
If I could count my homebrews, this would be number 1000. Strong chocolate aroma. Roasted coffee flavor, but that is secondary to the chocolate. Full bodied and full flavored.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Shared at a bomber tasting. Appearance: deep reddish brown color, slight brown head. Aroma: raisins, chocolate, coffee. Palate: full body, oily/alcohol texture, soft carbonation. Taste: malty and fruity sweetness. Overall, I think this was my favorite beer of the night at our imperial stout blind taster. Super smooth, complex, and just a joy to drink.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Great Grog, Edinburgh purchased Jul-Aug 2012
Pitch black, dark tan head that dissipates to a lasting rim.
Aroma of deep dark roast malts, some mellow coffee roast (much less than expected), some savoury notes, dab of soy, little chocolate, complex, not much alc on the nose
Taste as aroma, rich dark malts, coffee roast is mellow and very well integrated, deep sweet dark malts, soft chocolate, very smooth, fairly complex, alcohol well hidden, rather easy to drink for the 12%
Palate - soft carb, full body, very smooth texture, soft alcohol, sweet malts with fairly bitter roast and coffee roast, some bitter dark chocolate in there. Finish as main flavour, soft warming alcohol, soft bitter roast
Overall - Less huge and complex than expected, alcohol surprisingly mellow, perhaps benefitted for ageing 1.5 - 2 years. Very good impy but not absolutely stunning - I’ve had better UK impys
