COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

750ml bottle served in a snifter glass. A: Pours a deep black oil like color forming a medium brown head which is bubbled but quite aired, with big bubbles. Retention is low, however, a small layer lasts forever and some lacings are left in the glass. Kind of small bubbles around. Just beautiful S: Smell is quite sweet and dark chocolate like with strong notes of moka coffee, roasted malts and a bit of alcohol in the end T: Perfect taste. Sweet upfront followed by intense dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. End is roasted malts bitterness mixed with a delicious grassy hops bitterness and taste. Perfect M: Such a powerful and, at same time, delicate beer. Extremely pleasant in the mouth you do not fell the 12% ABV, impressive. Body is medium and carbonation is low. Mouthfeel is a bit molasses. Upfront in sweet and the end is bitter as it just should be O: Absolutely drinkable. Impressive quality. Perfect American Stout [ BA Review @ 7/28/2012 ]

Lovely coffee, sweet bourbon (almost rum) nose. Pours almost jet black with a lacy tan head. This is a beautifully balanced imperial stout -- roasted coffee, slightly bitter chocolate, a solid hint of booziness, well roasted malt, a hint of cherry and a touch of cream. There are enough hops underneath to help support the classic stout elements. Great balances and a long but clean finish

Cappucino immediately springs to mind when popping the cap. Lots of nasal-burning blasts of alcohol, tar, and fresh coffee beans. The aroma is spectacular, but all other characteristics seem concealed within. The appearance is a sheer delight that includes plentiful carbonation and a velvety mouthfeel. Mild roast lies beneath the stacks of bittersweet chocolate, Ryan Bros. coffee, and burnt malts. Long finish of dark chocolate-coated espresso beans. Awesome stuff. 2003 What happened? Nowhere near the same brew. The aroma and flavors no longer boast the elegant coffee flavors. Moreover, the mouthfeel is far less than velvety and much thinner. A huge disappointment from Skip V’s version. Interesting, since this is supposedly the same recipe.

Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Coffee, chocolate, burnt, roasty aromas. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel. Coffee, cocoa flavors dominate, with a bit of alcohol. A very tasty beer, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t considered it 100/100th Percentile. Pretty good, but not quite that good.

10/10/14. Draft at Criterion. Yes, big and bad. Just had an Old Raspitun a couple of nights ago and this goes further on all fronts than that benchmark. Big complex palate with the ABV to balance the overload of roasted malts and hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared 75 cl bottle with TurtleBrain for his birthday. Aroma of coffee, alcohol, black malt, amazing. Pours pitch black with big tan head. A small head last the whole time. Moderate bitterness, alcohol, moderate sweetness, bitter chocolate. Great body, finish is long lasting, thick oily texture, light+ carbonation

First beer rating. Shared a 75 cl bottle with DroolYeast for my birthday. It was his present to me. Aroma of coffee. Pitch black apperance with a longlasting brown head. Heavy bitterness with light sweet- and sourness. Full body with at thick texture. Soft carbonation on the tongue with a long bitter finish of coffee and alcohol. Ovarall a very good stout that went well with the fillets.

Year and a half old bottle. Dark brown pour, black in the glass, with a medium sized, light brown head. The aroma has a lot of dark chocolate upfront, with some strong coffee, dark stone fruit, burnt notes, and both medium and dark roast. A slight touch of alcohol as it warms. The flavor stars out big and sweet, with a strong chocolate and coffee. The sweetness is toned down a bit by some mellow astringency and bitterness from the coffee. A lot of caramel and coffee in the finish. Huge body balances everything and also hides the alcohol well. Fantastic.

Black with no head or lacing. Chocolate, dark coffee, raisins and leather. Chocolate sweetness with a raisiny bitterness. Heavy body with a perfect balance. Long lingering aftertaste that just makes you wanna have one more sip of it.
