Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Nice creamy black pour with tan fluffy head. Smells of sweet roasted sugar cane. Less alcohol than I remembered when I previously tried this one. Alcohol is still present but not bad at all. Great thick palate. Good rich flavor overall and good brew overall.

7 - 4 - 7 - 4 - 15 Smell, taste and palate are all similar but overall this 04 bottle is much, much milder than the 07.

My 1000th rating, and this deserved it! Bottle (About 1-to-2 years old) A nearly opaque black pour, with a rising, deep brown head that falls to a consistent, dense film. Huge pungent nose of kilned barley, roasted coffee beans, crispy brownie fudge and some chocolate liquer/boozy notes. Big bodied. Chewy and velvety without being cloying and has the perfect amount of carbonation. The flavor has an amazing harmony between sweet richness and enough bitterness to sustain the massive body. The taste is reminiscent of mocha-chip ice cream and fudge brownie richness. Then comes the coffee! Rich and roasted bitterness giving the initial richness a euphoric balance. A fantastic Imperial Stout that lives up to the hype, and was worthy of my 1000th rating.

Bottled shared with piscator34 on a bright and cold saturday morning. Pours out dark espresso with a nose of espresso and dark chocolate. Thick body on this but not cloying in the slightest. Someow seems dry and viscous at the same time. Little ash in the taste, but also nicely balanced with the chocolate malts. Drinkability is very high given the potency of this brew. Excellent stuff.

Dense and lasting espresso head, opague black body. Rich aroma of roasted dark malts, chocolate, sweet licorice, plums, prunes, raisins and mild coffee. Taste is not unlike the aroma, with an impressive complexity; Light sweet dark malts, roast, licorice, coffee, English fruitcake, refined bittering hops. Notes of tar, oak and ash. Fat body, but still very easy drinking. Long and dry hoppy and coffeish end. What at treat! [Sampled (twice) @ RBNAG’07]

2006 Bottle (Thanks weeheavysd!) Pours a syrupy thick deep, dark black with a 2+ finger light brown head. Aroma of dark roasted malts & barley, espresso, bitter chocolate and some dark fruits. This brew coats your tongue and throat and makes for a nice warm feeling in the belly. Flavor of roasted malts and barley, dark roasted coffee, a little chocolate, some vanilla notes. Full bodies is an understatement. This is a meal in a bottle. My big 4 0 0!!!

Roasted malty coffee and chocolate flavor. Long smooth roasted malty finish with hints of chocolate and coffee in the aftertaste.

750ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Black body with a fine brown head. Rich, complex aroma of leather, oak, vanilla, liquorices and coffee. Flavor is sweet roasted malt, oak, vanilla and well hidden warming alcohol. Very rich and delicious indeed.
