Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

[Thanks oslo2116] Very dark witha hint of red and absolutely no head. Aroma sweet, buttery, caramely, no roast, bit of vanilla, soy sauce and raisin. Bit of a burn, but that is to be expected since it is 12%. Medium thickness with a long finish. Reminded me of an ice bock.

Thanks to cbkschubert for this baby on one of our first trades over a year ago. This baby is a black pour with a deep frothy tan head. An aroma and flavor that are huge chocolate and coffee A very rich creamy flavor and texture that make eveything about this beer just excellent. What a beer. I drank the entire 750 myself. Thanks Craig.

bottle from 05. aroma is caramel, figs, coffee, some alcohol. lots of long-lasting head on this one. body is full as expected, flavor is surprisingly smooth, hides the 12% quite well considering, and ends up being the perfect dessert beer: coffee, chocolate, smooth silky deliciousness. god could not brew anything this good.

On Tap Hamiltons. Rich bodied and a dark roast black appearance. Masterful balance of roasty coffee, bittersweet chocolate, caramel, vanilla, earth. Complex and delicious. One of the best RIS in exustance and amazingly consistant batch 2 batch.

Black body with deep, dark mahogany at the edges. A layer of large light brown bubbles comprise the head. Lacing is sudsy and not substantial. Fantastic aromas of chocolate, anise, coffee, molasses, and faint stewed raisons. The flavor is a dead ringer for the smell, with copious amounts of anise really adding something special to the rich, sweet, chocolaty flavors. The coffee isn’t as pronounced as the commercial description describes, but it, along with a decent amount of bitter hops, lends to this brew’s near perfect balance. The mouthfeel is thick, viscous, and incredibly smooth without any annoying stickiness. Beautiful beer!
