COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Bottle 750 ml. Pitch black with a medium creamy brown head and fair lacing. Aroma is quite complex with tons of chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, molasses and slight roasted bitterness. Taste is the same as aroma but even more complex. Moderate to heavy sweet and medium to full body. Mouthfeel is wonderful. Smooth and creamy. Alcohol is almost completely hidden. Incredible complexity and balance make this one amazingly drinkable. This may be the best non barrel aged imperial stout I’ve ever taste.

Good god. How the hell is this a shelf beer? Viscous black pour, beige head that fades away. Nose is rich coffee, dark chocolate, sweet malts. Taste is huge dark chocolate, espresso, rich malts. Initially sweet finish with rich dark chocolate covered fruits followed by a rich black coffee bitterness. Sticky, nearly full mouthfeel. Enjoyed this much more than the BA version.

So very very excited for this beer! Pour: Jet black, Big creamy tanned head. Lots of coffee on the nose, with some vanilla. The more I drink this beer the better it gets, at first mostly coffee was tasted but vanilla starts coming in more and more with some dark chocolate. Hides the alcohol incredibly well. Top class stout and must let this beer warm up before you drink.

This is by far one of my favorites. I wish I could get AleSmith in Virginia! very smooth but large mouthful. Bold flavor with no bitterness.

This is a great beer. Amazing you can find it pretty much year round in Arizona. About perfect levels of carbination and viscosity. Love the barrel aged and Kopi Luwak versions too.

Almost black, frothy tan head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, black coffee, roasted malt, caramel, and hints of dark fruits. Smooth, moderately boozy, full-bodied, and much more bitter in taste. A little too much carbonation. Finish is long and bitter.

My hopes were probably unrealistic after finally finding this top rated brew. I did enjoy it quite a bit but it wasn’t quite the transcendent experience I’d expected. There were some metallic elements I didn’t like and the mouth feel was a little weaker than I expected. That being said, it is a very good beer.

2013 bottle. Huge thick black pour with plenty of thick tanned head. The smell is exactly what you would expect, thick black coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and so on, for sure smells BIG!. Up front there is big hit of roasted malts, aftertaste is coffee and black licorce, one mean stout...AWESOME

Opaque pitch black with a espresso like small head. Nice chocolate, liquorice, mocha aroma. Flavor is strong chocolate, port, some woodyness and slight smoke. Full palate, warming and flavorful.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours black in color with a thick and creamy beige head, which looks great and stays on as a cap for the whole time. Cacao powder, roasted notes, coffee liqour leading to a bit of vinous notes and even a bit of some marzipan sweetness in aroma. Dark and powerful. Later on there appears some notes of salty licorice as well. Oily texture and leaving a nice layer of it on the glass. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and creamy. Bitter cacao with notes of cherryliqour in taste. Has a gentle warming effect. A bit of coffee beans too with light notes of salty licorice in flavor. Rich and strong. Feels quite sweet at first, but turns into combination of bitter and dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans in finish. This is still one of my favorite imperial stouts, as it seems to be very well balanced and great tasting from time to time with those roasted notes, bitter chocolate, slightly sweet and slightly vinous notes working well together.
