Speedway Stout’s ominous, pitch-black appearance has become a hallmark of this modern-day classic. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the flavor, supported by notes of dark fruit, toffee, and caramel. A healthy dose of locally-roasted coffee from Ryan Bros. Coffee, Inc. added to each batch brings out the beer’s dark chocolate flavors and enhances its drinkability. Despite its intensity, Speedway Stout’s fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel make it very smooth and surprisingly easy to drink. This beer ages very well and will continue to mature for many years to come.

1 year old bottle. Really dark brown liquid, almost jet black. Small light brown head. Big dark chocolate aroma. Also some coffee, caramel, dark fruits. Taste starts with some sweetness, milk chocolate, bitter coffee, caramel, sweet toffee, ends a little bit dry with bitter coffee again. So smooth. Medium carbination, full body. Too easy to drink!

Tap at the Republic, Minneapolis. Pours pitch black, huge tan head. Aroma is massively roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Very robust. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, just so flavorful, robust and aggressive. Phenomenal.

OLD NOTES! Pitch black and oily with a very nice dense brown head that lace the glass. Looks like a dessert. Lots of dark chocolate withsome liqeur and vanilla like sweet touch too it. Like a chocolate praline. Simple but luxurious. Taste is also pretty straightforward with lots of cacao, sweet dark chocolate, liqueur praline and fruity notes of cherry and grapefruit. Some alcoholwarmth in the finish. Big round oily body with soft carbonation. Very good stout.

Beautiful. Completely black and oily, with a tiny layer of mocha coloured foam. Retains its appearance. Aroma: quite mild; but the aroma that there is, is intense. Loads of coffee, complex and dark malts. Some hoppy aromas, herbal tones. Flavour: perfect imperial stout. Thick and oily mouthfeel, bitter but not too much, beautiful roast character. Loads of coffee (espresso) and some hints of chocolate. Some caramel. Dry finish, a little warming but very balanced and mild for 12% abv. Awesome imperial stout, definitely one of the best if not the best I have had.

Bottle. Dark brown colour. Beige head. Hints of sour coffee beans, cocoa, vanilla in the aroma. Chocolate, coffee beans at first. Hints of caramel and vanilla. Cocoa in the middle. Bready, sour finish. Caramel in the aftertaste. Smooth, silky palate. Very well balanced. Tasty beer.

Pours black brown with average brown creamy head. Aroma is heavy dark chocolate, coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts. Hint of smoke and toffee in mouth. Medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter, long lingering aftertaste. Medium to full body, creamy palate, soft carbonation. Super balanced, smooth and slick chocolate impy, one of the best I’ve had.

Fles gekocht via firmabier.nl, gedeeld en uitgeschonken in 33 cl. Struise glazen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
