COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Bottle from Tacoma Food Co-op. Pours black. Tan head. Scent is boozy and chocolaty. Taste is less boozy. Coffee and chocolate. Nice and roasty. Very smooth beer.

Bottle from Robby, thanks slim. Seriously remarkable aroma. Chocolate without being sweet, coffee without being acidic. Beautiful caramel colored head, which sticks around. On first sip, wonderful balance. The chocolate is ALMOST too sweet, but the coffee takes it down appropriately. The malt is perfect. Hard to come up with issues, this is a nearly perfect coffee stout.

Probably best brew in SD if this is your style. Jet black with nitrogen type head. Rich French roast coffee with a licorice undertone. Mouthfeel of big stout flavors, finish of toffee caramel coffee anise. Nothing much better!

I’ve been saving this beer for the right occasion and I needed something big for my 1000th beer rating so I finally decided to crack this bad boy open. Pours pitch black with a thick creamy bubbly tan head. This beer is so dark if you hold it up to the light you can’t see through it. The aroma is big dark roasted coffee with vanilla and dark chocolate. A little alcohol aroma. Silky, velvety mouth feel. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate up front followed with big roasted espresso coffee flavor. The middle has some dark dried fruits and dark chocolate notes. Finishes with dark cocoa and big roasted coffee bitterness. No alcohol flavors which is crazy for a12% beer but in the finish you can feel the alcohol vapors. The flavors of this brew really meld nicely together with the coffee and chocolate flavors. I had high expectations for this beer and it’s even better than I imagined. Truly an amazing brew.
