COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

750mL bottle. An opaque black pour with the slightest mocha/chestnut head. Not much coffee in the aroma at all. What’s the deal with that? Instead, it features lots of vanilla beans and extract, anise and dark chocolate. The coffee does become a little more pronounced as it warms, but I still expected more. Goes down full-bodied and terrifically silky-smooth. Lots of dark chocolate, creamy caramel and some roasty coffee flavors upfront. Fades to some toastiness at the end. Finishes kinda dry with a good deal of bitterness. Not THAT much alcohol warmth at the end, especially considering the ABV. I’m fairly disappointed. I just expected more from this one.

Bottled 02/04/14. OK, been looking forward to this. Pours a very dark brown/black with a red edge. Aroma has booze, grass, tree bark, light cough medicine... Medium body, medium carbonation. There’s booze, light treacle, grass, nettle, wood, light coffee, dark choc... It’s a little harsh - I’d be curious to try an older bottle. That said, its really nice.

The beer was from the tap at Triangle Wine in Southern Pines. It pours black with a dark brown head. It has a strong coffee smell with a bit of chocolate. The taste is dominate by a rich, creamy taste of coffee with hints of chocolate.

Delicious. Bold but smooth. When you see 12% for a beer you may be turned off but the alcohol does not show to much. Toasted chocolate coffee make this a memorable beer. Very good.

(version 2011 ?) très puissant, très concentré en café, mais aussi beaucoup de fruits rouges et noirs dans le fond, très long.

750 ml bottle from The Local Pub, Athens Greece. Pitch black color with a nice thin brown head. Aromas of coffee, wood, chocolate, oak, liquorice, berries. Phenomenal taste, sweet from the malts and bitter from the coffee and roasted. Bitter aftertaste, long. Full body with low carbonation.

Pours very dark black with a thick foamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. Very tiny bubbles almost like a nitro beer. When cold not much aroma and creamy vanilla up front followed by bittersweet chocolate. As it warms you get more milk chocolate aroma and flavor, with a very mild coffee background. Light on palate and warming due to alcohol content. Very smooth and balanced. Quite a nice Imperial Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Jet black with foamy brown head. Syrupy and smooth. The coffee shows up later in the sip and is well balanced. Chocolate aftertaste. Palate coating. Warming. Full bodied but goes down nicely.

Black pour, khaki head, deep rich aroma of roasted coffee and caramel. Thick and creamy, this brew flows over my tongue like a massive booze train, coming around the curves with a wallop of warm like nobodies business! There is no crisp to this, but a hot, comforting hug filled with coffee and nutty goodness. Velvety and black made me think to braise my dinner for this evening with it. Pork chops are to die for and the imperial stout to go with it made for the best meal of the month! I’m most definitely a fan!

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Dave! Pours black-brown with a frothy tan head. Well roasted malts in the nose, baking cocoa, burnt wood, soft cocoa. Medium to big sweet flavor with well rounded dark malt character, some torched earth bitterness, bittersweet cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with bittersweet chocolate, burnt wood, coffee grounds. Solid, rich, well rounded.
