4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ DTS. Cream and dark chocolate in the aroma. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate in the flavor. Alcohol is well hidden. Earthy hops in the aftertaste. Rather straightforward IS, maybe lacking a bit in complexity, but still a great beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled: Totally dark coloured. Chocolatish brown head. Decent lasting. Roastyness, coffee, malts, fullness in the aroma. Has fruity notes. Reminds me a lot of a very good columbian coffee. Very good! Coffee, coffee and coffee in the flavour. Heavy roastyness and chocolate as well. "Totalt i orden smag." Has a awesome aftertaste. Bitterness and tar pretty well mingled. This is good stuff. The last beer from my trade with Raindog. Thanks, man.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2013 Despite the fact the reviews talk this beer up so much, Speedway Stout is one of my favorite beers. Itís like a Southern California icon. The pour is the color of asphalt as the name evokes. A very distinctive aroma -- you know this has a ton of coffee in it. Tastes like a blend of roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Substantial all the way through. The price is a bit high for me, but you can use a $1 off coupon at Total Wine -- but it used to be $2 off. I wish this came in a 4 pack for $6. At least itís not a shandy.
