Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Bottle. Many thanks to Marc for trading thisone! Black body. Brown head. Good lace. Nose of ’drop’ (some kind of candy). Moderately bitter, moderately sweet initial flavour. Heavlily bitter initial flavour, lightly sweet very long finish. Heavily bodied. Lively carboantion. very sirupy and complex (spices burning to my tongue for minutes) mouthfeel. Although I’m not into stouts, I defenitely appreciated this new experience.

Color dead on black with a tight brown head. Aroma is a deep roasted almost burnt scent. Taste is deep and burnt. Starting with full body it goes down sharp with a burnt taste. Finish is rich with deep roasted flavors that give just a hint of sweetness and a bit of coffee. After taste is a mellow sweetness that fads leaving behind a lingering bitter burnt taste. This is a very good brew but leans a bit too much on the burnt character.

Huge thanks for BMan113VR bringing this bad boy back from California. Body is totally opaque with a surprisingly light head that turns from brown tinged to almost white with a bit of brown dashes. Nose is total dark chocolate and fresh roasted coffe. At 12% this beer is scary with how drinkable it is. Amazing soft creamy velvet like mouthfeel. Taste is super warming and it feels like it coats your entire mouth. Unbelieveable!

This is worth its high rating. Pretty much everything could be described as being "Huge." The roasted malts, coffee, toffee, chocolate, hops, alcohol were in grand amounts. However, instead of conflicting and becoming muddled I found this to be balanced quite well, even with the higher ABV, which was noticable but not distracting. Had to sip on this one for a while. Appearance is dark, thick, with a chocolate colored head. Even with the coffee/malt flavors it didn’t come off being too sweet with a nice balance of bitterness.

Pours a pitch black with fairly large tan head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, coffee, roasted malt, alcohol, and some dark fruit. The flavor is absolutely wonderful. Chocolate, lots of coffee, roasty, sweet caramel, and a little bit of hops. Some alcohol comes through, but it is very warming. Creamy mouthfeel.

Well... Thanks to Jim for sharing this. What a guy. Poured dark and THICK. Brown head, real nice lacing. Aroma is right alnong with an Impy. Stout: Roasted malts, chocolate , caramel, and LOTS of COFFEE! Taste is an expieience. All the typical stouts flavors, + Coffee, coffee and cofffee. The Huge 12% is there, but never steps foward till you get up and try to walk. This is my new favoorite! Try this guys.

Bottle with Craig, Stella, Fin, Loz and Traci, at the "What’s This Label Supposed To Be Anyway?" tasting. Big thanks to Douglas88 for this one!

Deep black with just little shiny brown edges, modest layer of burnt tan fine bubbles with some good stick. Dry smokey coffee roast aroma, dry burnt toast, dark chocolate. Fuller body than the BA Speedway, and fuller, more dramatic roast character. Lingering dark chocolate. Green sappy wood. A stunning, beautiful beer. Compared to the BA Speedway: the nose on this is a little less luxurious, but the fullness of the roast character is just outstanding.

Harry brought this along to the tasting and managed to wipe it from my want list! Deep dark black, I shone a desk lamp through the glass and not one ray of light permeated through. Coffee-vanilla-chocolate-cream aroma. An amazingly smooth, sweet, sticky toffee flavour, truly great. *Oh oh oh it’s magic*
