Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

dark black colour with almost no foam, rich complex and very powerfull aroma of coffee and prune, alcohol with some notes of black chocolate, very thick and oily with a very strong bitterness followed by an endless coffeish and hoppy finish - a total exhuberance and a unique experience, thanks to jcalabre for this beer.

GABF 2004. Another one of those beers I kept going back to. Black with a large, creamy light-brown head. Heavy molasses, coffee, roasted nuts, burnt malt, and spruce aroma is rich, inviting, and absolutely delicious. Excellent rich malt flavor accompanied by fresh, cleansing hops - what a great balance. Full, creamy mouthfeel with average carbonation and a sweet finish. Silky smooth, and yummerific.

GABF: 2004 Others have already said it better than I could. My 2 cents...best damn Impy Stout I’ll probably ever taste in this lifetime. Best regards, Bill

Has a very interesting barleywine feel to it that i do not pick up in the bourbon, though the bourbon is the 02 version. Still black, chocolate aroma to it. A good stout.

Congratulations to Skip and Tod for yet another world class AleSmith Brew!!! Dark as coal, frothy mocha head, HUGE coffee flavor with a long bitter chocolate/ coffee aftertaste. Well Done!!! Move over Stone, there’s a new STOUT in town!

Bottle served at 55 degrees. This stuff is dark! I held a flashlight up to the glass and no light penetrated. Medium sized dark brown head that disipates quickly and leaves behind a patchy, chunky lace. Aroma was rubbing alcohol and coffee. maybe a little prune juice in there. Flavor is milk chocholate, coffee and dark fruit with a sweet caramel finish. Surprisingly soft and smooth for a beer so high in ABV. kind of went down like a kahlua and cream. or a chocholate milk with chocholate syrup, heavy cream, coffee and a shot of everclear. This was a great beer. I am buying a bottle tomorrow to put in the wine chiller/beer cellar. This is definitely the Padron Anniversario Maduro of beers.

Incredible beer. Black oily pour with a velvety brown head. Giant aroma of roasted coffee, burnt chocolate and caramel. Flavor is Right on par with the aroma, only the chocolate comes in first. Mountians of coffee in the finish. For a beer this big it is dangerously smooth and easy to drink. The bitterness in the coffee finish keeps you taking another sip. Many thanks to Alaskaiscold for this amazing brew.
