Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Black pour with a tall, creamy, sorta chunky mocha brown head that has awesome retention and leaves good lacing. Aroma has tons of coffee, chocolate, toast, caramel, a little toffee, sugared roast nuts, a little earthiness and dry floral notes. Flavor is loaded with coffee right away, like good coffee, lots of sweet caramel, roasted nuts and milk chocolate come in, roast malt, hints of pine and bitter dried citrus, earthy notes, some floral and lightly acidic hop notes that could easily be from the coffee instead of hops and as it warms some dark fruit, sweet bread spice and vanilla notes come out. Palate is creamy on entry, with a light, to moderate strength, but blanketing carbonation to break it up before an off dry, but still sort of creamy, but oddly crisp and fairly clean finish. They really worked some magic here, somehow having a beer huge in flavor, complexity, body and alcohol content while having a finish as clean and smooth as most stouts half this strength. Still it has a lingering, pleasant sweetness with a little coffee and nuttiness that lasts a good, long time, it just isn’t overbearingly roasty, or sweet, or bitter, just delicious, leaving me wanting more. It is definitely on the sweet side, but it carries it well, offering an awesome balance in most categories, despite being a 12% Imperial Stout. Fantastic, one of my new favorite beers.

Lg bottle - pours jet black with small fluffy tan head. Luxurious aroma full of mocha, espresso, dark chocolate, licorice and burnt marshmallow. This XL nearly perfect stout is coffee riffic....and full of cocoa, huge roasted malts, amazing chocolate, toffee, dried dark cherry and wonderful burnt flavor.

A fantastic imperial stout! Very complex. Has coffee, chocolates, cognac, vanilla, all very neatly tied together. Loads of taste, but well-hidden alchohol.

Year aged. Pours black with minimal tan head. Nose is chocolate, dark fruits, bit if coffee, booze. Taste largely matches nose, dark chocolate, umami, dark fruits, coffee on the finish but not very bitter. Creamy, solid mouthfeel. Overall very good stout.

Bottled on 01.03.14. Poured into a tulip from a 25 oz bottle on 08.12.14. A: Chocolate. It also has a tiny bit of coffee. A: 1 finger tan head. Midnight black body with some red in the glass. T: Chocolate and cherry dominate. Plum, woodiness, coffee, and vanilla are subtle. P: Creamy smooth. Chewy enough. It goes down smooth for such a high ABV. O: The alcohol heat is definitely there. The coffee adds some nice roastiness without becoming overwhelming. In the end, the flavors were too subtle, which made drinking it somewhat boring.

Pours pitch black with a thin dark brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, caramel, dried cherry. Flavor is an excellent balance of sweet, bitter, roasty and coffee. Really big with hidden alcohol. As always excellent!

750 pours a dark black with a tan brown head that does not dissipate. Smells strongly of a velvet like chocolate flavor with heavy alcohol. Has a velvet bodied with some surprisingly sharp carbonation still mostly hid by the heaviness. Has an alcohol heavy fudge/ chocolate flavor, coffee doesn’t show so much. Can tell its heavy abv but doesn’t taste like that so much, my bottle is 5 or 6 m old. Good but not especially standout to me.

Pours pitch black with brown head. Tastes intense, a bit salty with roasted notes, a bit alco in the throath. After barley wine feels super smooth. Great ethalon imperial stout. Third time I drink this and still love this.

Going from notes, pours thick and dark with little head. Aroma was ok, not overwhelming. tasted little of coffee or chocolate. Have heard such great things about this, but perhaps my expectations allowed me to expect more. Very good beer, however, and worth the price.
