3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2015 Bottle. Tried this numerous time, but never got to rate it due to intoxication. Black with a medium sized dark brown head with good retention and lace. Nose has chalk, mushrooms, chocolate, grain. Flavour has the same things, not very rich, white sugar, grain, chocolate, dust, chalk, vanilla, slightly thin and sugary texture, balanced bitterness, soft carbonation, warming alcohol. Not as harsh as I remember it but overall unremarkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black with small but stable white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee, licorice and dried fruits. In taste fine dark chocolate, some roastiness and dried fruits plus low alcohol harshness. The beer is full bodied, oily and smooth on the palate. Sweet with medium bitter (partially from alcohol) finish. Classic RIS, very good.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle, courtesy of Sinh4. Thanks! Ah, and what an impressive imperial stout this is. The foam and color are both as manifold as they are beautiful. Throught aroma, nose and palate there is this beautiful balance of coffee, chocolate and sweetness, nothing is overpowered in any way, yet there is more to discover. Smooth and easy to drink.
I only read the commercial description while rating, and I rarely saw one that was matching my thoughts so well. This is heaven.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap into 12 oz plastic cup ::shrug:: hard to tell in a dark room, but looks black, no head. Cigarette smoke is fucking up the nose, but I get raisins, maybe almonds, and a hint of chocolate. In the mouth, heavy, almost oily. Lot of chocolate, some prunes. Holding it in my mouth releases carbonation giving it a creamier feel. Finishes with a whisper of hops pounded down by the alcohol sweetness. The 12% shows to the beer?s detriment, although I?ve never cared for that sticky sweetness that comes with high gravity brews. Frankly disappointed after reading the other reviews, as I usually like stouts.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Butelka. Barwa czarna jak smoła, nieprzejrzysta. Konsystencja bardzo gęsta. Bardzo ładna wysoka lecz nietrwała beżowa piany. Bogaty i złożony aromat ciemnych palonych słodów, czekolady, espresso, żurawina, wanilii. Smak bardzo intensywny, czekolada, kawa, wanilia. Odczucie w ustach bardzo wysokie. Oleiste ale nie obelepiające. Nagazowanie niskie do średniego, alkohol delikatnie rozgrzewa. W odczuciu duża pełnia. Alkohol bardzo dobrze ukryty.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served generously filled almost to the brim, displaying a deepest brown color, and only enough room for a modest but persistent layer of brownish tan head foam, with wavy ribbons & spots of lacing as the precious liquid dissipated. The nose was smooth, roasted malt with an expressive blend of cocoa, caramel, and toffee, a touch of espresso, and a hint of smoke. Medium to full bodied, the taste was similar, with an added touch of syrupy sweetness, soft carbonation, and bitterness that was roasted & earthy. Exceedingly smooth & hearty, but 12%?

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Pitch black, tan head. Strong aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee. Taste is strong chocolate, espresso notes, roasted coffee, alcoholic burn. The mouthfeel is so full and satisfying. Can’t believe this is 12%! This is unbelievable stuff. Amazing.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle shared in a snifter. Pours black with a voluminous tan head which last very well throughout. Aroma is coffee, dark fruits and malts. Taste is upfront coffee with a slight dryness almost like baker’s cocoa with a quite pronounced sweetness and then a slight bitterness but still on the sweet side for an Imperial Stout. Not as good as the hype surrounding this but a solid IS nonetheless.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an opqaue jet black color with khaki colored head. Coffee, roasted malt, and sweet chocolate on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with coffee and cocoa, like a chocolate espresso.
