4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from 2005 - nr 86/223. Looks really, really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black, small head. Fiery-malty aroma. Starts strong, not too alcoholic, warming, fiery, intense malty. Fine roasty notes, not too intense. Some hints of wood. Finish a bit drier, dusty, rusty, still roasty. Warming-malty finish. A masterpiece!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from a guy who packed a box. Nose is toffee, vanilla, booze, fruity, slightly grape with some apple. Pour is deep brown with ruby highlights. minimal off white head. Taste is mostly booze with strong vanilla and woody tannins, but in a complimentary way, or rather, an alesmith way. The biggest complaint I have about this is that the booze dominates the base beer and I miss the subtleness of smokiness, peatiness, and caramelization from a scotch ale. Otherwise, the barrel character is very well done, alcohol is not too hot, but definitely there. Good boost

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014 bottle. Aroma is milder with expected and features sweet and boozy bourbon and toffee sweetness. Murky dark mahogany-amber in color. Smooth-as-silk taste of very moderate bourbon (surprising since this beer is not even a year old), decadent caramel and toffee with faint baked brown sugar. A dry burnt barley taste becomes prominent late with a sweet-yet-woody finish. Very good, but not great.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This one goes out to the two bosses - Vestergaard and Rasmussott thanks you guys.
Pour opaque, very dark brown, with a small thin khaki head.
Aroma has plenty of dark berries, quite some bourbon, barrel, vanilla, banana, marzipan, almonds. Puhh wee this is filthy!!
The taste is pretty sweet, but has some bitterness to it. Some heat in the throat.
Oily n’ medium bodied, with a flat but tingling carb. Pretty darn delicious.
