COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Weizenbock is a pale, golden color, and like a bottom-fermented bock, has a high starting gravity and high alcohol content. The smooth, malty sweetness of a Weizenbock is balanced with clove, honey and fruit-like flavors. A touch of honey is also perceivable in the nose to produce a unique and complex aroma. It has a medium to full body and mouthfeel. The wheat adds a subtle tartness, which makes for quite a quenching and refreshing beer.

Hazed orange pour with very light white head and lace. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and paper. Light sweet caramel and mint. No paper as would be expected from a beer this old. Pretty damn nice.

Sweet and malty nose with lots of toffee and golden fruits. The taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, with lots of banana, peach and pear, some apple skins and lots of oxidized caramel. Definitely has held up well.

Had the great pleasure of sampling this with Peter at Dr. Bill’s tasting at the ’09 GABF. Very well-aged, but still holding up. Characteristic fruity esters are most prominent in the aroma along with subdued caramel malt. The mouthfeel has thinned out after all this time but still suggests excellent structure. A fun bit of time traveling.

Sample from Jon’s 99 bottle at Woodshop. Pours a hazy deep orange with a frothy off white head, spotty lacing. Light oxidation on the nose along with banana, clove spice and some fresh citrus. Very stoked I got to try this.

Woodshop. Thanks Jon! Pours a light caramel color. Sweet and malty. Honey and fruit. Really good 10 years later. Wow.

Wow. Tried at Woodshop 5.0. Thought I would never try this. Bottle from 1999?. Sweet and malty. maybe some melanoidins. Maybe honey. No bitterness. Very good.

Very nice nose with caramel a bit of alcohol as well as some fruit. Fruity sweet and sticky, reminiscent of apricots. Some oxidation shows through, but this aged pretty well.

(750ml bottle, 1999 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of graham cracker, cardboard, toasted malt, banana, light florals, and noticeable oxidation. Flavor of caramel malt, biscuit, light rum, and butterscotch.
