Citrus, hops, spices, pine... very nice complex flavor and aroma. Lots of carbonation and head and a great finish. Bravo to AleSmith once again. ben4321 (1157), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: Aroma of grapefruit, caramel malts, resin, and pine
Appearance: Hazy golden-amber color with a creamy head
Flavor: Taste is resiny hops and some fruit juice, with sweet malts
Palate: Light-medium of body, nice mouthfeel, drinks really nicely
Overall Impression:
This is a really solid APA. Another good beer from AleSmith, this pale has a lot of nice west coast hop character to it. A very good brew.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2010 From a really old rating note - on tap at the Alesmith brewery tour: hazy gold pour with a fair bit of carbonation. Grass and hops in the aroma. Sweet light hoppy taste. Great texture. That’s all I have on this one other than a score. Would love to try again. CampesinoTino (85), Fremont, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 12, 2010 Bomber. It pours a nice light golden and has a sharp citrus hop aroma. It starts with strong bitter hop flavors followed by a champagne-like carbonation fizz bomb on the tongue and a dry, citrusy finish. The description on the back of the bottle explains the unique carbonation as a result of special conditioning by the brewers yeast at the bottom of the bottle so kudos to AleSmith for jazzing up their Pale Ale. arrogantb (809), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 12, 2010 X pours a golden transparent yellow into my pint glass. The smell is hoppy, citrus, a slight pine scent and it is really inviting. The taste follows the nose and exhibits all the same characteristics. Mouthfeel was good and my only complaint is that I poured slow and careful and still got massive foam. I woudl love to buy six-packs of this beer as it is really good. I usually don’t like extra pale ales but I preferred this over Alesmith IPA (which is a winner itself). San Diego does come with some truly great beers. Damn you Alesmith!!!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2010 Bomber. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a some scattered bubbles floating around the surface. Aromas are lovely... mango, lemon, floral hops. Flavor is a pleasant mix of hops... a little herbal and grassy at first, citrus and pine later and then a tropical fruit blast just for a second in the late aftertaste. It’s a little thin on the malt, and it seems like the alcohol stands out a bit much (even though it says 5%). Mouthfeel is thin and refreshing. gorditoabd (206), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2010 Bottle shared with MrBunn. Pours a lovely honey hue with minimal, lacy head that quickly fades. Aroma is of honey, floral notes, and perhaps a touch of hay? Flavor matches the aroma, almost to a tee. Well balanced body, starts bittersweet, and then, at the very last, there is a mango, or some other passion fruit sweetness that sits on the tongue, just long enough to make you smile, before it fades. Good stuff. Highly recommended... fredandboboflo (1494), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2010 Bottle. Aroma of huge floral notes with a nectary, lemon component and lots of bready malt. Flavor equal parts bready malt and floral bitterness. Assertive yet delicate. Delish.
