This refreshing, light-golden Extra Pale Ale embodies drinkability. AleSmith X pushes the limits by offering a level of flavor not often found in this classic style. Fresh American hops are abundant but carefully balanced by a light, crisp body and smooth bitterness. Notes of citrus and pine combine with a delicate malt sweetness to create a flavorful drinking experience.

Taps hazy golden-amber with a minimal eggshell head. Aroma offers a strong note of resiny hops, more IPA than "regular" pale ale, supported by orange and malty notes. Flavor continues the IPA-like hoppy note but ramps up the malt, while a bit of pear joins the orange in the fruit component. Mouthfeel features fairly firm body and strong, lively fizz. X marks the spot to slake your thirst.

Aroma: sweet and citrusy; Appearance: golden, clear pour with billowy white head that dissipates slowly; some lacing; Taste: follows nose but is fairly bland; some bite at the end; Palate: light bodied with medium lightly bitter finish; Overall: very drinkable but not my favorite APA. A little disappointed given quality of other Alesmiths.

Bottle from Union Liquors. Hazy golden body piled high with a fluffy head. light hop aroma recalls a pilsner. Taste is extra crisp, nice snap on the finish. Lingering bitterness. Could easily pass for a nice German pils.

On tap at Alesmith brewpub. Light golden. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Classic San Diego pale ale, lots of bitter and lemony hops mellowing out slowly with a bit of fruitiness. Not so different from the .394 pale ale but really good and easy to drink.
