AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People’s Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

A commercial description that actually is.accurate. Bomber was a bit on the pricey side. Quite enjoyable.

Purchased at Discount Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed at home on a Friday after work to kick off a low-key weekend. Appearance is a light cloudy gold with a moderate white head that nicely laces to the glass. Aroma of bready malt, oats, pine, smell is rather robust and potent but good. Taste goes down with a nice pine and bready malt mixture, not really getting much citrus in there but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In a way it’s like a hoppier and much better Fat Tire, that’s what I’m getting from this one.

Botella de 66 cl en el lúpulo en junio de 2013. bastante buena y refrescante, con aromas y sabores afrutados y florales bastante claros. Muy interesante y recomendable para repetir. Cuerpo ligero con 5.25 vol que se bebe bien.

Pours a straw yellow that is crystal clear with a bright white foamy head that lasts and shows good lacing. Aroma is bright citrus and fresh hops on the initial pour. Taste is bright and citrusy bitter with a subtle but present sweetness that doesn't overpower, just supports the hop bill. Clean and crisp in the finish. One of my top APAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is an excellent pale ale. You tend to expect the bombers to be more IPAs masquerading as pale ales, but this is just a solid citrus and pine offering.

Slightly cloudy but translucent yellow - looks like a lager. Almost no head, thin long lacing. Aroma is quite faint, hops and corn and grassiness with a little grapefruit. Tastes of piney hops, pepper, lemon, with some light malt to balance. Body is thin, light, crisp. Very good for a pale ale - more flavour and complexity than most beers of this style while still very drinkable - but definitely grading on a curve.

Slightly cloudy straw-gold color with very thin white head. Faintly fruity hop aroma. Crisp tasting pale ale with a bitter bite to it that cuts through richer foods quite well while not overpowering with too much flavor of it's own. Good on the beach or with a meal but not too complex on it's own.

Appearance is crystal clear light golden, with a frothy whit foam cap that lingers. Aroma is grapefruit, lemon, and pine. Very strong. Taste is sweet, biscuit like malt which gives way to lemon, grass, and grapefruit. A little more earthy than your typical APA. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, and well carbonated. Finishes with a strong but balanced hop bite that leaves a lingering grapefruit taste
