COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

22oz bottle from City Beer Store in SF. As is typical for AleSmith, this offering is at the top of its style. Pours golden with a substantial white head. Sweet malt and piney west coast hops dominate both the aroma and the flavor. Extremely well-balanced, similar to AleSmith IPA but a little more subdued on the hop front. Smooth and medium-bodied.

Bomber thanks to Lagunitasfan. Pours a clear orange color with a nice thick white head and lots of lacing. Super sweet hops in the nose, sweet citrus notes, pure grapefruit. The taste is very smooth and quaffable; sweet and juicy hops, grapefruit, some pine and a light bitterness. Lots of lemony zest. Very nice, and super drinkable.

Pours a translucent golden with some lighter amber notes and a large foamy white head that left tons of sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Aroma of nice floral and citrusy American hops, light pine, very floral and hoppy. Has a touch of caramel malt in the nose as well. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel and some bready malt notes. Really a solid well done American Pale Ale. Excellent representation of the style. Nice hop bitterness.

22oz bottle. Gold pour with a nice white head. Good hop nose, very fresh aroma, nice and floral. Very drinkable, with a nice little bite too it. Pretty decent session beer.

butter popcorn nose, helles esque, clear straw color, having this on draft at the tap room in Pacific Beach and they poured it for me into a miller lite glass, and it honestly looks like miller lite, clear and filtered clean, thin white head, juicy hop wildness hidden beneath balanced malt flavor, BALANCE, so well balanced, the hop flavor doesnt jump out as overwhelming but its back there, at its fruity, juicy fruit centennial finishing flavor well done, likely the best american pale ale i have ever had

Bottle at Holiday Alesmith tasting. Smell is bitter and citrussy. Lemon stood out. Taste is fresh and clean. Clear. Hoppy and a sharp bitter, but its still light in the mouth. Great beer
