Pours a very clean golden color, great carbonation present and a very low but very dense off white head that says around during the session. Aroma has a very smooth fresh citrus orange and touch of pine with a late noble hoppy character. Flavor starts with a sweet orange grainy presence but then transitions into light pine notes with a touch of a grassy finish. Body is light/modest in feeling with a slight sharpness from the fine carbonation. Overall a really good example of the American pale style.

Tap at Craft Heads. Clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates fairly quickly. Big citrus nose with white grapefruit, lemon, and iyokan dominating. Average carbonation with a medium to light body. Bitter and fruity on the palate with lots of citrus coming through the finish. The finish leaves bitter pithy citrus notes lingering.

Rating #1537 - 20.03.2015 - Birthday brewery tour day - On tap at Alesmith. Golden pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is mild sweet tropical goodness. Taste is a mini of citrusy, soft fruit sweetness, tempered by an explosion of bitterness, drying out the finish, but leaving the palate demanding another sip. Balanced and exquisite.

Bocktown. So th’smith is all over western PA now? Go figger. Pale, smell is sweet perfume. Initially I think its getting strong but then at a moments notice it starts to get better. Medium bitterness builds. Cleaner, more refreshing beer. Tad medicinal on the finish.

Great bitterness -- sharp and full of citrus and pine with a gentle sweet cereal finish. Excellent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lilly and honey nose, subtle clay hints. Clear amber, medium head. Lillies, dry. Light body, easy carbonation. More of a session IPA than an APA. Tasty, but lacks a malt balance.

Nicely done and excellently balanced. Lots of pine and citrus and a touch of amaretto. Pours golden with great head and lacing. Good malt backbone. Very well done, and excellent drinakability. Too bad this is so rare in my usual stomping grounds - I’d drink this by the pitcher. Tap at blind tiger.
