COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

22 oz bomber- well, this is my first alesmith brew since the massive speedway stout. pours a light straw/yellow color, much more pale than most pales(must be the x-pale element) good carbonation- aroma was mild, similar to snpa(grains, hops, honey) flavor was nice, starts somewhat wheat-y, malty with a nice lemon/grapefruit finish that was very subtle-huge sweetness in the finish(an ipa light?) nice work alesmith!!

Straw hue with minimal head and some lace. Aroma of biscuit malts, floral and citrus hops, mild yeast, honey and vanilla. Wonderful tasting beer indeed. Starts out hoppy with elements of citrus and pine, then follows a malt undertone that smooths out the palate. The dry bitter finish is not overpowering. This light to medium bodied brew is very quaffable, recommend change of pace to the bigger IPA's from California.

Suspicious color. Slight hop aroma. Taste is mild hops, very smooth and dry, interesting. Very easy to drink. Good.

Very pale, blonde all most, with a very nice, tangerine/rose/peachpit aroma, with a smooth, wheat like flavor balanced with dry hops. Stand out pale ale, one of the best I've tried.

After a series of highly hopped ales I've been drinking, I found this baby to be a light and refreshing change of pace. A slightly hazy golden body with a super-white but thin head and surprisingly good retention. Fresh and slightly citrusy profile with a definite yeast presence( I can't say enough good things about bottle conditioning). Flavor is crisp and wonderfully refreshing with a good hop/malt balance which I found sweet and slightly bitter at the same time. Alesmith truly is a fine brewery.

This is pretty good beer for the stlle however, doesn't match up well with the Pale Ale king, Stone. That said however, Alemsith Extra Pale pours up a golden pale color. Light head with is retained throughout. Has lightly hopped aroma, and follows through with a lightly hopped flavor. Is a bit lemony and light-bodied per advertised. Not bad.

opon pouring, its gives a golden complection, which give way to a very subtle aroma. for an un-filtered beer, its not what you would expect. its a little too smooth, and the flavor and aftertaste leaves something to desire.

Bright white head atop a golden color ale. Nice hop aroma. Honey citrus with a nice balance of hop and malt. Less hoppy than I thought it would be. Nice clean creamy texture.

Bottle. Clear golden in color with an off-white laced head. A white wine, pine, and fresh hop aroma. The flavor has a load of hops and citrus with a crisp bitter bite.
