COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

Bottle courtesy of Lagunitasfan. Pours a pale gold with a 2 finger white head and good lacing. Aroma is navel orange and dank hops. Flavor is nicely hoppy, a bit sweet, and with the effervescent mouthfeel the very definition of a drinkable session. If I had this as a local it would always have a spot in my beer fridge.

It pours a medium gold that is very clear with lots of carbonation. It pours with 3 fingers high of head that lasts a while a good lacing. There is fruity white wind smell on the head, notes of grapes, bananas, and yeast. The taste is very light and smooth throughout. There are light notes of hops a touch of bitterness at the end. Light on the palate but highly drinkable.

ESBLS tasting at Bigelo’s. A hazy golden pour with a small white head. Light citrus and floral in the nose. There are understated flavors. Champagne, lemongrass, citrus, pine, and flowers. A light pepper spice comes late in the aftertaste. Nice with very nice subtleness.

Bottle from boFNjackson...thanks Matthew! - Pours clear golden with a huge fluffy white head. Light, soft citrusy hops with a light pine note on the nose, with some light bready yeast. Bready and lightly sweet, with light pine hops, and a grassy bitter finish. Soft carbonation and medium-bodied, with light resin. Pretty nice.

This is pale ale royalty. It pours a crisp gold with a light head. More hops than you would expect on the nose and taste. Has some malts that balance it and slight taste of pear. Excellent beer very pleasing to the senses.
