UPDATED: DEC 13, 2006 Nice all around. Pours clear golden yellow with little white head. Aroma is citrus and perfumy hops with some malt sweetness. Flavor is exceptionally balanced. All flavors complement and don’t overpower one another. Nice easy drinker.

Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Tom. Pours cloudy straw yellow with a major, fluffy white head. Aroma of soft vanilla, cotton dryer sheets, honey, hay wheat, and some saltine. Fuller bodied with a dry, clean palate. Smooth and arid. Flavors of pine hops, creamy malts, and some lovely citrus notes. Finishes crisp and dry. Great.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2008 I have American Pale Ale listed as favorite style. Not because I like every one I drink, but because when it hits, it usually is my favorite drinking experience. I like ’em a little thin and quenching, unbalanced toward hops, and preferably a low enough abv that I can drink several if the mood strikes. This fits the bill almost to a T. Really nice, I could drink a bunch of this if I could get it in my area. Thanks to fordest for the trade!

22oz bottle poured in a lager glass. This is a very nicely done beer. It has an initial aggressive hop taste that quickly mellows out and flows across your tongue like a pale lager thus saving it from being an IPA. This beer is refined and exceptionally balanced.

2004 bomber. Pours a light yellow with some light grass/hay shades. Some darker golds upon settling, and mildly hazy. Tons of foamy white head. Aroma has a mixture of wet, mildly sweet malt, and dry floral hops, lightly sprucey and crisp. Flavor is mildly bitter (light citrus, mild hops) with a lightly sweet, almost creamy malt. Body is medium-light to light, slightly watery upon warming. Mouthfeel is soft and drinkable. Light zing of hops and carbonation on the finish. Altogether more balanced and lighter than most APAs. If I lived in San Diego, I would drink this stuff as a session ale religiously (this and Levitation ale).

butter popcorn nose, helles esque, clear straw color, having this on draft at the tap room in Pacific Beach and they poured it for me into a miller lite glass, and it honestly looks like miller lite, clear and filtered clean, thin white head, juicy hop wildness hidden beneath balanced malt flavor, BALANCE, so well balanced, the hop flavor doesnt jump out as overwhelming but its back there, at its fruity, juicy fruit centennial finishing flavor well done, likely the best american pale ale i have ever had

Good color, I like the yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Nice citrusy fruity aroma with good hoppy flavor in the mix. Delicious. An excellent Pale Ale for a summer's day.
