This refreshing, light-golden Extra Pale Ale embodies drinkability. AleSmith X pushes the limits by offering a level of flavor not often found in this classic style. Fresh American hops are abundant but carefully balanced by a light, crisp body and smooth bitterness. Notes of citrus and pine combine with a delicate malt sweetness to create a flavorful drinking experience.

Tasted rather like a tangy lemon meringue pie. Some sweetness but not much from the malt. Draught with a white head and a clear body

22oz bottle shares at CBC CW, London. Thanks to Paul I guess. It pours a pale yellow color with a medium white head. Aroma is fresh grassy hoppy, with light tangy fruits, apricots and citrus. Taste has resin, pine cones, bisuit, grass, lemon leaves. Medium bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, nice one

22 oz bottle purchased at 7-11 Kittery. Fresh bottle with a bottle date of 9/20/15. Hazy straw color with thin lasting head in a snifter. Aroma is a good dose of pine with traces of citrus and wood.

Flavor has substantial pine throughout, hints of tangerine, the sip with a nice balanced malt bill. Bitterness is grassy and lingers slightly. The overall mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. The citrus and pine are balanced well together, super easy to drink and I killed 22 oz. with ease.

Color is extra pale. Pouring a light cloudy yellow with a white sticky head. Tastes soapy and slightly piney leaving a bitter finish. Very well balanced and super crushable. Had a bomber pour at home. Excellent pale ale

Pale yellow, a bit hazy body with a thick white head. Hoppy aroma, with grass and pine notes. Very smooth taste, it’s a little bit sweet with the bitterness lingering in the background. Smooth mouthfeel, not a lot of carbonation. Very nice overall.

65cl bottle, served in tulip. Pours golden with small/medium white head. Some lacing. Aromas of toffee, tropical fruits and pine. In contrast, the flavour has a lot of pine with citrusy notes. Almost no sweetness...maybe some caramel but that’s all. The aftertaste is moderately bitter and dry, very balanced. Light body, very good carbonation. Definitely the kind of APA I like (and sure a lot of people do). It is not perfect because of small details, well done.

Nothing wrong. It is a good a good pale ale; I dare say refreshing in a sense. Is it something to get excited about ? Not really. Too expensive to be a daily drinker. Nice 22oz bottle.

Bottle. Turner’s, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Bubbles and a film of lasting, white head. Fairly sweet, slightly fusty malts. Soft toffee. Mandarin orange hop. Some cracker biscuit. Faint pine notes. Taste is light bitter. Hint of mineral dryness. Light, citric tang. Clean, lively palate. Juicy bitterness builds, and lingers on the finish. Quaffable.

Opalescent bright sun yellow-golden colour with a fine pillowy white head. Noses of light hay, herbal, citrus peel and pine notes. Lightly effervescent, thin texture, light body. Crisp and short pale malt sweentess with a bright light citrussy bitterness. Light dry short finish.

I’m going to compare this to Alesmith’s IPA. The aromas are a little more subdued, but still solidly hoppy and light. The body is a lot lighter than the IPA, but with that unique Alesmith creamy mouthfeel that feels really unique and contrasts nicely with the light flavors. Really pleasant and one of the best pale ales I’ve had.

Draft at the source. Poured a golden color with a small white head. Aroma was light pine, some mild citrus. Flavor was mild citrus, light pine. A touch earthy hop character. Easy to drink.
