COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

Bought amn this is really good. Best pale I may have ever had. Amber pour. aroma is delicious. Hops, citrus, caramel, bread dough and maybe some pineapple. Flavor is full and awesome. Fruity and hoppy. Grapefruit, bread, caramel. Damn what a brew.

Refrigerated 22 oz. bottle poured into a shaker. Pours golden with slight haze with couple finger fluffy white head that dissapates pretty fast. Small lacing, light body (may be even a little thin), and nice bitter hop aroma. Taste is herbal hops and finishes bitter hops. Not one of my favorite styles, not a lot of flavor for me, but pretty good.

Bomber from Vintage Estate brought by ck1, thanks bro! Pours very clear pale orangey-yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma brings mildly floral hoppiness, some citrus, a bit of biscuit. Taste has some bitter citrus fruit, some breadiness. A bit sweet without much of any malt existence. Finishes short without much presence. Nothing bad or annoying about this brew, but nothing to make it stand out either - which is disappointing from Alesmith.

22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a foamy off white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit and some cereal malt. Flavor is lots of bitter hops with a balanced malt presence. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry, clean finish. Excellent pale ale, lots of hop character and super drinkable.

Mild floral and biscuit aroma, pours a clear light amber with a full white head. Not much hop in the flavor, more of biscuity malts, with a touch of lemon in the finish. Light mouthfeel, and very easy drinking. My biggest complaint about this beer would be the price, at $9 a 22 oz bottle, it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

22oz bottle, shared with Taylor. Clear yellow-orange color, a really foamy near-white head. Tons of lace. Very light and very smooth carbonation, and a light body indeed. Very easy to drink, yet great hop aroma. It’s not overly bitter or resiny, like an IPA can be, but that hop is still so super-satisfying. It’s difficult to explain, but the flavor here is so complex and nuanced, yet so light, and easy to drink... It’s an amazing combo. Amazing flavor for a 5% brew, I figured this would be at least 6%. A fantastic pale ale, if I’ve ever had one.
