COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year we anxiously await the warmer months to unleash this Double IPA, the summer edition of our Yulesmith Seasonals. The flavor imparts orange, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes with earthy, spicy, and resinous pine undertones. A sturdy malt backbone balances out the profound hop bitterness to create a refreshingly assertive and vibrant beer that offers an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.
Summer Yulesmith’s citrusy aroma pairs well with many Mexican and Thai dishes, while its bitterness complements the sweetness of rich pork dishes like BLTs or spare ribs. Brawny, intensely flavored cheeses like Danish blues and aged white cheddars are also an effective foil to the aggressive flavor profile of this Imperial IPA.
Serve in a Pint at 45-50*F.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2013 Lots of pine, some citrus. Notes of peach, maybe pineapple? Tropical fruit of some sort. Very hop-forward. Very good. Been looking for this for about two years, I finally found it at some place in Philadelphia that sells bottles and seems to be a bar as well. And the Eagles were losing the preseason game too. As a lifelong Giants fan, I hate the Eagles. That just makes this beer even better.

Bomber from Portland shared by kevinsenn. Big tangerine aroma, like Christmas in the summer. Golden colour, more or less clear with good head. Sweeter than a typical IPA with a bitter finish. Can’t tell if the light burn on the tongue is from alcohol or hops - probably a combination, but it’s not unpleasant. Well done.

Sweet and bitter aroma. Earthy organic. Thick orange cloudiness in color. Super packed with flavor. Very rich profile from start to finish. Buttery. Big farmhouse grain to it. Pine resin biter sticky. A bit rough and in your face. Man I want to try this on tap. To quote Ric Flair "Woooooo!". It’s hard to explain the richness this beer has. This has that "I am going to kick your ass" personality to it! Love it!

Draft at the growler NYC on stone st. Pours a bronze sticky hoppy and boozy sweet taste. Not sure how its for summer but its a good heavy double iPa if you're in the mood for one. Classic west coast ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours gold with a off white head that is silky in appearance. nose of light pine and citrus skins. taste has a solid malt base that holds the bitterness is balance. pine and booze burn on the finish. moderate carbonation keeps this light on the palate.

Brilliant golden copper with a medium sized head that leaves lots of thick lace. The aroma has a lot of grapefruit and orange peel, with some grassy/floral notes, and some mild but rich caramel. The flavor is much more resinous, with hints of citrus, very Columbus-like with caramel and residual sugars. Nice body on this, very full yet not overly sweet. Finishes dry, a tad on the bitter side, with a detectable yet reserved alcohol presence.

Pours a light Orange tight frothy head. Aroma is citrucy with some mango and tangerine notes. Taste followes the aroma well with some hop bitterness and a balanced malt. Not too complex. But very easy drinking great beer. Fruity beer. Citrucy. Not really blowing my socks off. Good brew though!
