Every year we anxiously await the warmer months to unleash this Double IPA, the summer edition of our Yulesmith Seasonals. The flavor imparts orange, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes with earthy, spicy, and resinous pine undertones. A sturdy malt backbone balances out the profound hop bitterness to create a refreshingly assertive and vibrant beer that offers an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.
Summer Yulesmith’s citrusy aroma pairs well with many Mexican and Thai dishes, while its bitterness complements the sweetness of rich pork dishes like BLTs or spare ribs. Brawny, intensely flavored cheeses like Danish blues and aged white cheddars are also an effective foil to the aggressive flavor profile of this Imperial IPA.
Serve in a Pint at 45-50*F.

"bitter orange is the story here. in the nose and in the flavor. not that well balanced, whixh is quite alright with me. for now, i actually like their ipa (my favorite at 4.5) and the winter yulesmith better, but i’ve had those fresh, and this beer was brewed for july and sampled 11/4. Fresh, gotta bump it up a tenth. Great brew."

Pour is clear golden orange with thin pale head. Aroma is grassy and earthy with some light citrus notes. A light caramel-chocolate note comes with the sweetness of the malts. Taste is resinous bitterness with light chocolate notes. Some citrussy flavors too. Good DIPA!

Butelka 66cl. Można by powiedzieć szlachetne. Super. OCENA : smak : 8/10 pijalność : 7/10 styl : +2

Bittle from Chuckaduck, thanks again man! Amber pour with a white head. Big aromas of citrus and resinous hops. Flavor is tropical fruit hops balanced with just the right amount of malty sweetness. Another delicious beer from alesmith.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Deconinck, Vichte. Amber colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Very fruity aroma of tropical fruit (citrus, lemon, passion fruit, mango). Juicy character. Sweet with very bitter hoppy finish. Very well balanced. Very good!

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 Bottle from Bierkompass.de. Dark golden to amber, clear body, with a big, creamy, slightly beige head, that leaves a lot of lacing. Lovely aroma of pine, grapefruit, lots of tropical fruits, peach, biscuit, honey, slight alcohol. Taste with about the same aromas, also some nice tea notes and suprisingly smooth. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a medium carbonation and it finishes pretty smooth, medium bitter, dry, with lemon zest, pine, fruit notes and also some sweet malts. Overall just amazing how smooth this is for an Imperial IPA! Perfect balance, lovely and complex hop notes and with a delicious, smooth malt backbone. Close to a perfect DIPA and completely worth the high ratings!

So this is awesome. Pours a sunny orange with sticky lacing. Aromas are citrus and tropical fruit and sweet malts. Flavors are sweet and malty with a nice citrus hop finish. A really good beverage.

Clear amber color with rich white foam. Bottle conditioned. Hoppy aroma, very fruity, with grapefruits, orange and pineapple, and sweet malts on the background as well. Taste is very hoppy, full of flavour, with tropical fruits, sweet malts and a bit of pine and resin. Bitter aftertaste, dry finish. Really nice Double IPA.

Look: pours a bright orange. White head. Ver clear. Smell: citrus fruit. Tangerines. Oranges. Very hop forward. Tropical fruits. Taste: tangerines. Lemons. Orange peel. Feel: very dry. Nice IIPA. Medium carbonation. Overall: good beer. Love the aroma. Wish the taste had more tropical fruit not just citrus. First drank: home 9/1/14
