COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year we anxiously await the warmer months to unleash this Double IPA, the summer edition of our Yulesmith Seasonals. The flavor imparts orange, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes with earthy, spicy, and resinous pine undertones. A sturdy malt backbone balances out the profound hop bitterness to create a refreshingly assertive and vibrant beer that offers an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.
Summer Yulesmith’s citrusy aroma pairs well with many Mexican and Thai dishes, while its bitterness complements the sweetness of rich pork dishes like BLTs or spare ribs. Brawny, intensely flavored cheeses like Danish blues and aged white cheddars are also an effective foil to the aggressive flavor profile of this Imperial IPA.
Serve in a Pint at 45-50*F.

65 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy golden with a little sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, pine, and caramel. Flavour is pine, caramel, and citrus – with a very bitter finish.

Bottle pour avg gold with thick white head. Nose pine, resin, dried fruit. Taste moderate bitter up front, then lots of dank hop. Mid palate light sweet then light grainy malt. Longer bitter finish. Too bad the nose doesn’t carry though in the flavor.

From bomber. Pours a dark golden with a white head. Overflowed on opening. Big pine citrus aroma with a similar taste. Notably bitter. Dry. Bitter finish. Nice flavor, but would prefer a little more sweetness.

darker golden colour, huge, yellowish, creamy head, which lasts for several minutes; marvellous aroma of resiny-citrusy-tropical fruity hops and some biscuit; brilliant bittersweet taste with pine resin, intensive tropical fruits, maltyness and some spicy alcohol - surprisingly intensive malty sweetness can be felt first (together with of course the hops), which hand over the place to the devastating bitterness; amazing IIPA! Who am I to find even a slight mistake in it!?

PapaVillum (470) - Valby, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2014
1 pint/6 ounces/66 cl?, flaske, 8,5 % ABV, købt i Barley Wine i CPH City, 3. oktober 2014.

"bitter orange is the story here. in the nose and in the flavor. not that well balanced, whixh is quite alright with me. for now, i actually like their ipa (my favorite at 4.5) and the winter yulesmith better, but i’ve had those fresh, and this beer was brewed for july and sampled 11/4. Fresh, gotta bump it up a tenth. Great brew."
