COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year we anxiously await the warmer months to unleash this Double IPA, the summer edition of our Yulesmith Seasonals. The flavor imparts orange, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes with earthy, spicy, and resinous pine undertones. A sturdy malt backbone balances out the profound hop bitterness to create a refreshingly assertive and vibrant beer that offers an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.
Summer Yulesmith’s citrusy aroma pairs well with many Mexican and Thai dishes, while its bitterness complements the sweetness of rich pork dishes like BLTs or spare ribs. Brawny, intensely flavored cheeses like Danish blues and aged white cheddars are also an effective foil to the aggressive flavor profile of this Imperial IPA.
Serve in a Pint at 45-50*F.

Bottle. [Courtesy of wetherel]. Light unclear medium to dark orange color with a large, frothy - creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grape, light to moderate yeasty, soap. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. ;o)) (220108)

22 fl oz bottle thanks to Hildigöltur and Ungstrup for allowing us to open this :). Pours almost clear and golden orange with a diminished white head. Spiced and orange fruity to light citrusy aroma. Light breadish and liqourice hops flavoured with a solid bitterness. Dried fruity yet not raisin sweet as the flavour remains rather dry. Dry and lasting bitter into the far finish.

An unclear orange beer with a fine beige head. The aroma has hops all over - a great aroma. The flavor is sweet malty with loads of hops both aroma and bitter hops as well as notes of grass. The end is dry and bitter. Really a nice beer.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a hazy orangey golden with a creamy, off-white head. Surprisingly subdued hop aroma. Very full body with lots of caramel malt and a high residual sweetness. Marked hoppy finish, but it’s a somewhat muddy hop profile leaving a somewhat confusing impression. Some alcohol in the finish, herbal cough syrup like. Honestly this was a disappointment, but thanks heaps to sk8viking for sharing nonetheless. 220406

Bottled (thanks whoever sent this to me!). Orange colour, big white head. Aroma is very fruity and flowery hops along with some nuttyness as well as caramel and malts. Flavour is very hoppy, grassy and some fudge and some mild alcohol. Also nuttyness. Big grassy/fruity aftertaste with slight earthy and nutty notes.

Bottled. Hazy amber. Intense grapefruit aroma. Fairly sweet with firm, rounded maltiness. Enormously hoppy. Salty, very bitter finish. Die hard brutal hop juice with a fair amount of alcohol...

14th December 2010. At the Euston Tap with Harrisoni. Cheers to Ian for lashing out on this breathtakingly expensive but wonderful beer. Hazy gold beer, fluffy white head. Soft dry palate with light carbonation. Creamy malt base with gorgeous hops. Mild pink grapefruit, orange, mango and guava. Lovely creamy finish. Hugely drinkable, I could honestly drink this till I passed out. Lovely!

Bought 6 months ago at Papago, Phoenix
It pours a cloudy deep blond color, with generous, creamy head. Medium hop aroma, a bit puckery, delicate mix of citrus fruits. Good body, smooth mouthfeel; strong caramel and toffee flavor, with enough residual sweetness for my liking; the bitterness is strong, of good quality, without exceeding on the resiny or fruity side. Strong and long final, chewy too. Maybe not fresh, but very good.
