COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the holidays! Double Red IPA arrives each year as the weather turns cool and our cravings for winter warmers begin. This Imperial Red Ale has an intense hop aroma with well-balanced caramel malt sweetness. The intense American hoppiness builds on the substantial malt backbone to deliver a full-flavored beer with a ton of complexity.

Bomber from vinmonopolet - Pours a dark red hue. Full aromas of spiced bread, grapefruit and slight caramel. Flavor has tons of complexity, bitter and hoppy up front, but with spices, caramel, dried stonefruit and peaches in the finish. Very complex and very good. Recommended!

Bottle sampled at a tasting. Dark amber pour. Hoppy citrus aroma, with tropical fruit. Tastes like malt sugars, grapefruit and pineapple. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Intense red IPA indeed. Nutty and heavy, full and meaty. Lingering finish. Well hidden booze in the pleasantly balanced beer.

Aroma: floral hops, light resin, honey, caramel. Appearance: clear, dark gold, medium, creamy, off-white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: hoppy floral bitters, dry, really quite intensely bitter, then honey, flowers, some alcohol. Overall: exceptionally complex IIPA, nice honey flavours in aroma and palate. Pint at CASK Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico.

Dark amber color with beige head. Aroma starts hoppy with earthy, piney hops and caramel malts. Taste starts hoppy and bitter with some caramel and toasted malts. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice overall, hoppy with a good amount of caramel malts, really well balanced.

Shared bottle at home. Pours clear dark rugby red with dense long lasting off-white head. Aroma of pine needles, caramel, resin. Tastes slightly sweet, but bitterness dominates. Alcoholic warmth, medium bodied. A very nice beer.

Pours clear red. Aroma is hoppy, and a nice malt balance. Taste is very hoppy, but roasted malt gives it a nice balance.

Flaska. Härligt kraftig intensiv maltig doft. Smaken för känslan till en strong ale. Här finns torkad frukt med maltiga söta balanserade smaker. Efterbeskan är riktigt bra.

Lore (1942) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 4, 2016
dark amber to reddish brown colour, adequately large, dense, creamy yellowish-bright beige-ish head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of pine resin, citruses (grapefruit), tropical fruity and maybe some floral notes, biscuit (shortbread), some caramel and hints of grape; bittersweet taste with resiny, overripe tropical fruity (papaya, mango, some passion fruit) and grapefruity notes, biscuits, caramel, some roastedness, herbal medicines and hints of floral honey; besides the intensive bitterness, there is something peppery-spicy (ginger???) in the aftertaste; this is what I consider to be a(n almost - well, this spiciness is somehow, though slightly, disturbs me) perfect IIPA!
