Welcome to the holidays! Double Red IPA arrives each year as the weather turns cool and our cravings for winter warmers begin. This Imperial Red Ale has an intense hop aroma with well-balanced caramel malt sweetness. The intense American hoppiness builds on the substantial malt backbone to deliver a full-flavored beer with a ton of complexity.

Pours deep red with huge lasting white head, aroma is big citrus and spicy hops with some caramel. Taste up front is big citrus, spice, and almost resin like hops into a bready, caramel malt with a sweet and bitter finish. 2013 - after a year in cellar. Hops is not tasty anymore. Gonna leae a bottle for a few years more to see if i can get them away and feel the old malts instead

Great smelling DIPA or American Strong Ale or whatever it is. Sweet and honey-like with pine hops showing through. Not overly complex, just simple and perfect. Beautiful crimson color with a white head that paints a stark contrast. Taste is like the aroma - simple honey sweetness with a fair amount of hops complimenting it. Palate is smooth and oh so drinkable. Liquid honeysuckle. If you haven’t had this yet, go get it right now. It’s easily the best red ale I’ve ever had.

Keg at Brewdog Shep’s Bush. Clear dark reddy brown coloured pour with a lasting sticky creamy coloured head. Aroma is spiced winter spices, unrefined brown sugar, Belgian yeast, cinnamon. Flavour is really rounded nutty brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and orange spices. Palate is full bodied, velvety, smooth. Lingering tingling spice. Suourb beer. Love it.

Keg at Brewdog, Shepherd’s Bush, London. A deep amber/copper coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, caramel, malty aroma. Tastes hoppy, caramel, malty, slight sweetness, slightly boozy. Utter perfection from Alesmith.

Keg at Brewdog. Hazy red, small foamy white head, leaves sparse lacing in the teku glass. Aroma is strong caramel, rosewater, pine. Body is medium, foamy, lowish carbonation. Taste is pine, toffee, pretty sweet with a light bitterness. A flavoursome sweet beer. Pretty drinkable at the ABV.
