COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green.

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget (129:-). Tack Linda! Karamell, grapefrukt, tallbarr, kakao, vanilj, lakrits, torkad frukt, en hel del söta toner, medelfyllig. Avslutningen är torr, besk och lång.

Faced with this masterpiece there are a few things to say, aroma and flavor in perfect balance, hints of tropical fruit, caramel, pine resin and light but essential hints of custard. One of the masterpieces of Alesmith and the U.S., the highest grade.

Dark amber body with a thick tan head. Pine stands out in the aroma. Caramel, fruity and grassy. Taste is medium sweet with light bitterness. Full body with soft carbonation. A bit of a bitter finish but not too bitter. Really nice.

Appearance was hazy mahanony gold with diminishing off white creamy 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are slight bready roasted caramel malts upfront then gives way to some pine and citrus fruits, no alcohol. Taste are malt upfront with toffee, toasted sweet bread. Then sticky pine, grapefruit, orange and hints of lemon and clove, alcohol well hidden. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium-full body, then a lasting citrusy slightly dry finish. A wonderful IPA red, yummy.

Flaske 0,65l. Gave fra Rune. Drukket på RV124 31 Des 13. Mørk amber. Høyt sammensatt pent skum som varer lenge. Litt lacing. God fruktaroma. Fersken. Smaken bra balansert. Plommer & svisker. Behagelig syrlig & bitter etter hvert.

Bottle (22 oz). Dark caramel color with a small off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is of caramel, resinous hops, grapefruit, sweetness and light alcohol. Taste is moderately to heavily sweet (cloying) with a huge caramel/malt presence, pine, grapefruit, light alcohol and a moderate bitter finish. Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Dry finish. I usually love AleSmith, but this one is not complex, lack of balance and isn’t drinkable.

Ruby red beer with thick and big head and leaves huge amounts of lacing to the glass. Aroma has grapefruits, pines, syrup and toffee sweetness and some anise or other spices. Taste is salty with licorice, sweet caramel malty , and in the end there is bitter grapes and pines. Oily smooth texture, and surprisingly low carbonation. Excellent beer again from Alesmith.

Old review from ’10. Thanks to RomanW70 for sharing this one!! Appears hazy amber with a tan head. Nice lacing. Smells of caramel, pine, grapefruit. Taste follows the nose on this one. Medium in body with beautiful carbonation that leaves this beer a wonderful silky quaff. Overall a delicious and very drinkable beer.
