COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green.

Gald to have AleSmith in North Carolina! Pours out a dark red color with a light tan colored head. Smell is hoppy, grapefruit, caramel malts, and pine needles. Taste is sweet and rich, slightly bitter with a touch of salt, but not too much. Very creamy mouthfeel. Great beer wonderful stuff.

22 oz bottle poured into glass. Aroma is slightly hoppy with a ton of caramel maltiness. Pours a gorgeous redish brown with a light tan head that slowly dissipates. Very smooth up front with a decent amount of hops, great watery mouthfeel with slight carbonation and a very malty finish.

Pours a clear reddish-amber, with medium sized head. Strong malt and hop aromas. Flavor is an almost equal mix of hop and malt, some grassiness complemented by quite a bit of malty sweetness, making for one very satisfying brew overall.

Favorite seasonal beer I have tried all winter. Good mix of alesmiths traditional IPA with a subtle grass spice that is distinctly different

Bomber into snifter. Poured a beautiful dark red amber with a fluffy off-white head. Its a really lovely balance between the caramel sweetness of the malts and the resinous hops.

Type: 22-oz. bottle Glass: Manzanita pint glass From: Trader Joes in La Mesa (San Diego), Calif. Price: $2.99 Purchased: Dec. 8, 2014 Consumed: Dec. 8, 2014 Misc.: Bottled on Oct. 3, 2014 Poured a caramel, amber, mostly clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of rocky, khaki head. Good deal of bubbly streams coming up from the bottom. Very good amount of uneven, thick, spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention all the way down. (Sight - 4.38) Smelled a good mix of malts and hops. Got caramel, toffee, nuts, floral hops, citrus zest, herbal hops, honey, menthol and light Cascade hops. Some booziness late. (Smell - 3.75) Tasted a lot like the nose, maybe slightly better. Cascade hops, caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, pretty boozy, herbal hops, light woody malts, honey, menthol, lemon citrus zest and toasty nuts. (Taste - 3.88) Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter, rather boozy finish. (Feel - 3.75) A really good beer and almost perfect for the price ($2.99 at Trader Joes!). A bit boozy overall, but Id have again for sure. (Overall - 3.88) 3.87 87 B+
