COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green.

Bottle at Home. Lovely amber color, beautiful head. Sweet but not too sweet, very balanced and à bit roasted malt. Great bitterness from a lot of hops with caramel and hints of orange and citrus. Overall a very good beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, torkad frukt, farinsocker. Välbalanserad men alldeles för söt som förstör helheten.

Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a clear deep caramel amber with a caramel head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of sweet grains and caramel cut by a nice pine and resin note. Flavor is similar with a combination of caramel and pine with some sweet grains and a touch of resin.

bottle shared by derek, thanks! pours hazy chestnut amber with a creamy white head that dissipates quickly leaving a spotty film and minimal lacing- not particularly ’pretty.’ nose is tons of malts with sweet hop to cut the heavy malts. taste is similar with a ton of malts and fruity hops. loads of flavor with a very nice balance and high drinkability.

Pours a clear classic amber with a light taupe head. Aromas of caramel and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and creamy. Sweet caramel cut by the tart (sweet) grapefruit. Perhaps a little eggplant. This is an amazing beer. Despite very limited cooler space, I took a bottle home.

ACHops (281) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 26, 2013
22 oz bottle poured into a tulip (this bottle says 8.5% abv). Pours reddish amber with thick off-white colored head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt with a hint of hop spice. Taste is big bitter caramel malt with notes of pine and grapefruit hops and faint burnt notes on the finish. Rich, and slightly thick, although not syrupy. Very tasty, although lacking the malty sweetness that most other big Imperial Reds have. A big winter beer nonetheless, and delicious.
