During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green.

Bottle at Home. Lovely amber color, beautiful head. Sweet but not too sweet, very balanced and à bit roasted malt. Great bitterness from a lot of hops with caramel and hints of orange and citrus. Overall a very good beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good, but a bit of meh at the same time. First, burns way too hot. Second, way too resiny for the ABV (8.5%).

Pours deep red with huge lasting white head, aroma is big citrus and spicy hops with some caramel. Taste up front is big citrus, spice, and almost resin like hops into a bready, caramel malt with a sweet and bitter finish. 2013 - after a year in cellar. Hops is not tasty anymore. Gonna leae a bottle for a few years more to see if i can get them away and feel the old malts instead

Great smelling DIPA or American Strong Ale or whatever it is. Sweet and honey-like with pine hops showing through. Not overly complex, just simple and perfect. Beautiful crimson color with a white head that paints a stark contrast. Taste is like the aroma - simple honey sweetness with a fair amount of hops complimenting it. Palate is smooth and oh so drinkable. Liquid honeysuckle. If you havenít had this yet, go get it right now. Itís easily the best red ale Iíve ever had.

Keg at Brewdog Shepís Bush. Clear dark reddy brown coloured pour with a lasting sticky creamy coloured head. Aroma is spiced winter spices, unrefined brown sugar, Belgian yeast, cinnamon. Flavour is really rounded nutty brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and orange spices. Palate is full bodied, velvety, smooth. Lingering tingling spice. Suourb beer. Love it.

Tap at Brewdog Glasgow takeover. Strawberry jam, sticky resin hops, sweet but nice, bit of skunky bitterness. Good stuff. Caramel.
